Cannes ( KAN, KAHN, French: [kan] (listen), locally [ˈkanə]; Occitan: Canas) is a city located on the French Riviera. It is a commune located in the Alpes-Maritimes department, and host city of the annual Cannes Film Festival, Midem, and Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. The city is known for its association with the rich and famous, its luxury hotels and restaurants, and for several conferences.
By the 2nd century BC, the Ligurian Oxybii established a settlement here known as Aegitna (Ancient Greek: Αἴγιτνα). Historians are unsure what the name means. The area was a fishing village used as a port of call between the Lérins Islands.
The museum is nice, but the view that you can enjoy from there is absolutely astonishing. Even if you don't want to visit this museum, I would recommend climbing to it. You won't regret it. Amazing spot for taking pictures.

Small but diverse and high quality antiques collection. Not your usual mediaeval or castle museum.

The ascent to the former castle, from which not much remains, is already worthwhile for the view of Cannes. I didn't visit the museum itself, but I enjoyed walking up here and relaxing. Besides remains of walls and towers, there is a crenellated wall of the castle in front of the church.

Providing you can make the walk up many winding hilly paths, you'll find a quaint little museum offering a range of different displays and exhibits. Also offers a stunning view of the city.

Fantastic little museum with a low entry fee and the opportunity to climb the Chateau tower for the absolute best view across Cannes. Worth it just for that!
