The Tobacco Factory is the last remaining part of the old W. D. & H. O. Wills tobacco factory site on Raleigh Road, Southville, Bristol. It was saved from demolition by the architect and former mayor of the city George Ferguson and through his vision has become a model of urban regeneration. It is now a multi-use building which houses animation and performing arts school, loft-style apartments, a café bar, offices and a theatre.
Inspired by the Manchester Independents campaign, George Ferguson decided to launch a Bristol-based campaign from the Tobacco Factory, the purpose is to encourage the support and patronage of independent outlets and businesses to help redress the balance that has swung strongly in favour of the multiples at the expense of local character and enterprise. Business at the Tobacco Factory epitomises this, with home grown enterprises, such as Fanatic Design, CLIK.

It's a small intimate theatre. Very good bar and cafe downstairs. The plays that it puts on are generally very good although as you would expect they vary. Can get a bit hot inside at times and there are some pillars but nothing that should interfere with watching the performance.

This is a really good venue. From Shakespeare to children's puppet shows, opera to stand up, there is something for everyone. The main space is fantastic and flexible and the bar area well stocked and caters for all tastes. Restaurants and bars are all close by. Parking can be an issue in daytime, but evenings Aldi car park is next door and can be used without worry

Easy to find and the staff were friendly. I took my son to see a play he wanted. Good entry price and local shopping street if you get there early and want a drink or something to eat. He had a great time so worth it.

First visit here this month. A nice little theatre. Good to have air conditiing. Bar service needs to be addressed during intervals. 100+ people looking to be served and few staff to cater for their needs. Would certainly visit again.

We were lucky enough to celebrate the New Year here, where we attended a Disco spanning from the 31st of December 2017 until the early hours of the 1st of January 2018. There was some good food, lots of entertainment, and plenty of beverages. The Disco theme was great fun, and a great excuse to dig out the old flared trousers. We drank plenty of sparkling wine, and welcomed 2018 in style.
