This is a huge theatre and such a lovely and modern interior and exterior. We attended an event here last year and the venue is massive. there are lots of people to fit and lots of floors. We thought we'd be lost but it's so huge that you'd see it lit up from miles away! The people of wales are lovely and helped us find it. The venue contains a bar or social place in the ground floor and to watch the event you must climb the stairs and find the floor you are supposed to watch from. there are many layers to the seats so that may prove challenging!
A fabulous theatre, art space and meeting place. This centre hosts big musicals, dance and opera but also offers shows for children and hosts impromptu performances in it's foyer. It's also a great place to meet up for coffee or lunch or to view the various arts on display. There are also shops to browse with interesting gifts and traditional Welsh souvenirs.
Went to see Miss Saigon. We chose “standing” seats at the back of the circle as we booked last minute. The view was superb although not that comfortable ”standing” for the duration but better than not going. Please check if going to use this area as it’s not suitable for everyone! All gift shops open with plenty of choice and cafe well stocked. Enjoyable evening all round!
A great environment to enjoy a major show without having to travel to London. Lots of good places to eat nearby ( most do pre show special menu's.) And all reasonable price's.
Very beautiful building. Unfortunately I wasn't in Cardiff long enough to take in a show but there was a very interesting programme. The visitors information centre is very handy, and at the time of my visit staffed by a very knowledgeable man who answered all my questions. Great local knowledge.
The best place to catch a show outside of London we have been many times and have never been disappointed fab choice of food in the centre or very close by. Very easy to park right next door to Centre also very quick access to the M4 less than 10 miles all on dual carriageway. Highly recommend going
I have been here to see a show and the theatre was amazing. We had mid range seats with plenty of view and space. The coffee shop is lovely also. The centre also provides lots of activities for the little ones.
Great venue. My only concern is access via a copious number of stairs to get to your seats. Yes there are Two Lifts for Disabled access but these are usually blocked by the more abled. Great choice of shows though.
Love this iconic building in the heart of a rejuvenated Cardiff Bay. Alongside the top class touring shows in the breathtaking Donald Gordon Theatre there is a smaller theatre as well as two gift shops, a cafe and a restaurant. The place is open all day and great to walk through. There are often free performances on the ground floor but the pricing structure for the big shows is brilliant; if you don't mind sitting in the gods- and the view is great- then there are bargains to be had. It's definitely worth a climb to the bar behind the iconic lettering. Often home to exhibitions and activity sessions this place is a gem.
An amazing venue for musicals and shows. If you need car parking use the multi story as if you are going to the Wales millennium centre you can park for up to 11 hours for £3.90 So you can enjoy a meal and so.e drinks before hand. Getting into the theatre can be a longer process especially for capacity shows as there is only 1 or two entrances per level so arrive early. The food and drink venues on site are very expensive for what you get.
It's a great looking building from the outside. The inside was open, clean, and quite modern looking. The room the event took place in was large seemed well maintained and I imagine would be a great space for the types of shows usually put on there.
An amazing theatre venue with loads going on. The WMC has a large auditorium a Nd a studio theatre, as well as numerous rooms for private hire. There are a number of places to eat and drink in the centre, including 2 cafés, bars and a restaurant. There are free activities for children regularly held at the centre, details for which can be found on their website. It's also become one of Cardiff's main venues for theatre, musicals, comedians and live acts. With brilliant acoustics, there's very little they could do to improve, though some of the theatre seating isn't the most comfortable. They also provide the ability to obtain discounted parking while attending shows. All in all, a great place to go.
I attended my first concert here recently. I was very impressed with this venue and would definitely go here again. Very comfortable seating and great facilities.
I was part of the construction team building this place and I live directly across the road behind them.... So any opportunity when there's an event going on I will go there all the time.... It's so easy and accessible to get to.... Loads of parking in the big car park across the road.... The train station is just around the corner and there's a bus stop outside.... Great place to visit if you come to Cardiff
An interesting building being modern in structure, whilst retaining a degree of elegance in its design. Spacious interior with good facilities for visitors. The lady manning the gift shop was particularly helpful.
Watched War Horse here. The place is aesthetically beautiful from the outside. Inside, it's foyer is wide open, spacious and light. The eating areas are well looked after, with plenty of seating, the staff are very welcoming and the overall appearance is pleasing. The toilets are clean, well presented, even if there are long queues during intervals. The bar areas are easily accessible and affordable. The theatre has a great ambience, each level is staffed well and easily found with lifts to all floors. The production was amazing, great sound quality, lighting and effects. The surroundings enhanced the performance. I have no hesitation in recommending this venue, and merchandise stocked was reasonably priced. Great trip out for the family.
Fantastic venue in lovely spot down by the bay in Cardiff. Good toilets and accessibility options. Helpful staff. Seats good with decent leg room. Good view of stage from every seat in the place. Quite easy to get out afterwards too. Just across road from large car park.
It is always a very welcoming and helpful friendly place with great staff and things to see before the performance.Coffee shops gifts, cool drinks information about the place and up and coming shows a bright and sunny foyer. As for the shows that they put on every one that I have ever seen is a Quality and First Class production. This one was the War Horse !! Stunning Amazing Dramatic, and Thoughtful it moved me to tears and I don't admit that lightly. Visit this Welsh Wonder and see what people are talking about.
