It's alright really not really much of a museum, more a shop with a bit more information... However the chocolate there is fantastic so would recommend going there for that
The samples are great, but "museum" is a bit of a misnomer. No one had any tours or information, and the chocolate was overpriced.
Okay place, was a little hyped up. Good place to buy some chocolate. The hot and cold chocolate drinks are great.
Cheesy? Perhaps, but just know it's not really a museum as it is a shop. The majority of this is funded through pushing their merch. Is the merch delicious? Of course. Do they have air-conditioning that gives the wearing sweating traveler some respite. Hell yes they do.
The staff were extremely helpful and even offered to speak English. The museum provided a brief history of chocolate making. Many free samples of chocolates, drinks and products. They accepted USD and COP. Great place to go while in Cartagena as it is free and a great experience.
This is a scam! Very high prices for everything! I think you can buy better chocolate or coffee elsewhere. The have even a local cafe there and they served awful coffee, although we are in Colombia :) Wouldn't waste my money on this museum, Cartagena has definitely nicer places and tours.
Nice museum. Free chocolate tasting. They give you a nice history, overview and an explanation of how Colombian chocolate is made. They don't force you to buy anything, but the stuff is so good, it's hard not to. Do visit if you get a chance and take it all in. We bought some chocolate face moisturizer 😂
Awesome place to get a bit of history about the cocoa. They have good samples of their chocolate and other uses such as tea, coffee, liquor, etc. I also tried some of their desserts and they were pretty good.
Interesting experience, happy to support Colombian coffee farmers as a viable alternative crop. tasting the various types of chocolate was fun and there was no pressure to buy anything. We did enjoy some drinks in their cafe, and the make your own Mayan Hot Chocolate was - while quite simple - very delicious. Also, very well air conditioned, which is nice in the Cartagena heat.
