I did not belive that I will like baroque...
Fontana dell'Elefante is truly a monument worth spending some time gazing at. Really look at the intrigate work, and appreciate the surrounds. Take a walk with the wonderful guides and find out the wonderful story of this piece of history.
The fountain is the hear of the main square of Catania. The smiling elephant is an ease to the mood and a nice place to relax for a while and enjoy the surroundings.
Not that big as I have imagined. And there are repair work. Not perfect for photo
The fountain looks good. All around you can see beautiful architecture of Catania. It is definitely worth to visit this beautiful place. There is a meeting place for tourists and residents of Catania. We found that about 11pm there was many mothers with children around the fountain, what was quite surprising. Personally I recommend to visit one of the nearest restaurants to drink a glass of wine in the evening.
