The castle is amazing but most important point is view. Castle is very beautiful with painted walls giving historic look. i believe everyone come here is for the view, it is fantastic. Not only from the bridge of the castle, also from the corner of the cafe.
The castle is beautiful, both outside and inside. The view from its one remaining tower is fantastic and well-worth the climb - you can see the whole city with its enchanting red roofs and green surroundings. There are two tours of the insides to choose from: the first one covers the times of Baroque and Renessaince and the second one - the 19th century. We went on the first one and it was very cool, our guide was very knowledgeable, pleasant and spoke good English. The palace gardens are well-kept and it is a pleasure to take a stroll there. You can see some hedge mazes and a revolving theatre.
Český Krumlov is definitely a place worth a visit if you are planning a trip to Czech Republic. It's a lovely little historic town that will give you a taste of Czech middle ages. The castle itself is definitely a highlight of the trip. It overlooks the historic part of town giving you offering the visitors a fantastic view. One part of the whole complex is a beautiful garden. You do have to go uphill for a bit to get there but with these mideavelbcastles it's always an uphill trip. There are also tours of the inside of the castle happening every half an hour or so. So if you didn't get enough of the historic exterior you can experience another bit of history learning about the interior of the castle.
Beautiful location but don't make the mistake we did. Bought a ticket and was not informed that we had a specific time for a guided tour. So we headed to the Tower next door (separate ticket and fee) and enjoyed the view. We then couldn't find the location for the start of the tour. So we decided to ask for some help and guidance. Go to the location in my photo at the time that is printed on your ticket. Someone will show up and then you can get into the Castle. Update: guided tour was fantastic! Our guide gave an excellent overview of the Castle and the heirless reign over the years of this wonderful second largest castle in Czech Republic.
Small but pretty town with long history of royal families. Castle , which was later rebuilded to palace , is on perfect spot surrounded by beautiful nature. Town itself is tiny, well placed on river. Plenty of parking places available.
Really nice place. If you go there make sure you get up the tower and then visit the baroque theatre. The baroque theatre is supposed to be one of the biggest surviving one. The garden is really nice and the rotation outdoor theatre is definately fascinating (though I would understand why UNESCO would want to remove it... Definately should try a show before they remove it...) Visiting at night is also really great. You can enter the castle but the tower the museum and the garden are closed. It becomes very calm at night without the tourists and is very picturesque. We had a guide who took is there. It was really nice.
Fantastic and should be must in your visiting schedule.. Most happening place. Lot many local eateries. Authentic local taste. Tourist souvenir are available.
The Castle is very interesting with almost all of the wall being painted. The tour was good with a friendly tour guide. This was the best castle tour that I have been on. All of the rooms are well presented and they look amazing. Also in case it is a hot day the insides of the castle seem to always be cool so it was a nice break from the heat
The ambience is just wonderful and the view from the castle's window is magnificent. Take your time to enjoy the beautiful sound from the stream, the fragrance of food been cooked in the various restaurants and colourful wall murals.
Winter. Got there late at night and wondered how the stay was going to be because parking is a long walk and no elevators so have to lug bags up a small stair way. Rooms were nice and very comfortable. The scenery was awesome. Breakfast was nice.
An awesome place. I did not visit the castle as wanted to spend more time in the village. Please go by 10 am at least as the shops close by 4 pm plus.
Great castle/palace 🏰 with a partly gothic style tower to fall in love with. Lots to see inside and peaceful too. Everything you need reasonably nearby too. Guided tours available if you want that. Beautiful views of the town/village down below.
Fantastic experience. The guided tour far surpassed my expections, walking us through each stage of the castle's history. I learned a lot and found the castle incredibly beautiful, particularly the masquerade hall.
Huge, old and beautiful. This castle was the seat of the Rosenberg’s, the most powerful Czech noble family at the time. The baroque theater has been positive along with costumes and stage equipment which cannot be found anywhere else in the world. And impressive arched bridge connects the castle to the adjacent park.
Imposing, beautiful, historic castle with killer views of the town below and the surrounding countryside. Guided tours are a must. Don't miss the theatre. One of the highlights of our two weeks in The Czech Republic.
Museum is quite interesting. I loved the model scale - maketa (how the castle was looking in middle ages) and especially view from the castle. According to scale model I must say that castle was much more beautiful in the past.
Beautiful castle with interesting history. I visited this castle based on a photo I came across years ago and the views on approach, inside the walls and from the tower are all splendid or beautiful in their own way. We budgeted half a day on this castle and it was just enough. There is a vast cultured garden with great sculptured fountain, and what I think is a hedge maze. And yes, there is a bear in the moat.
I think it's one of the most beautiful castles. The insides are magnificent. You get overwhelmed as soon as you enter the castle and the view from the top is even more astonishing. You see everything that's inside the city and everything that's happening in the city all it's people and house. It's a pleasure to live in this city alongside it's people.
This is a beautiful castle. It is huge. You can take beautiful photos of the Cesky Krumlov town from here because the castle is overlooking the town. The town made you feel you are in the medieval age. Sometime you feel the knights are hiding somewhere in the town. It’s a 3 hr ride by train from Prague. It’s a must go place.
