White Point Garden is a 5.7 acre public park located in peninsular Charleston, South Carolina, at the tip of the peninsula. It is the southern terminus for the Battery, a defensive seawall and promenade. It is bounded by East Battery (to the east), Murray Blvd. (to the south), King St. (to the west), and South Battery (to the north).
Also known as The Battery. A place my Mother took us to run around and play on the cannons during the 70's. This was home to us. We didn't realize what a special gem our city was, as children. Beautiful view of Ft. Sumpter. Wonderful memories...
This scenic garden along the water in downtown Charleston is the perfect place for a stroll on a nice day. It's a great place to include when touring the city. The green space and proximity to the water give a nice escape from the bustle of the city and it tends to even be a bit cooler thanks to the breeze. It's also a nice place for a picnic or to let kids run around a little bit.
Beautiful park right next to the battery. Right on the extreme southern tip of Charleston. The worst thing about this area is it is hard to find parking. Get there early. Good thing is there are so many other neat things to see you can park a ways away and enjoy the walk there.
Serene and picturesque ,one can hear the birds chirping above on the tree branches. Beautiful fountain on a corner adds charm to this place. The neighborhood boasts of beautiful houses and landscaped gardens. it can be best described as a carpet of greenery with a tree canopy and the sun throwing it's warm Ray's on the ground making it a beautiful relaxing place.
White Point Garden is a great activity to incorporate with your visit to the Battery and Rainbow Row in this historic city, it's a short walk away. The park is open from dawn until 11 PM. Pets are welcome, but they must be leashed from 9-5. This is first and foremost a waterfront park, but there are a couple of things to see as you stroll through. We spotted military memorabilia, a gazebo and a couple of statues. I enjoyed seeing all of the beautiful homes surrounding this park too!
One of my favorite city parks. Frequented by locals who walk their dogs here and visit with one another. Has a "no leash" allowance if you have voice command. I had many birthday parties for my children here - complete with egg races, etc. Wonderful spot for a picnic. This is a Charleston institution, one of the benefits of living in this great town!
Gorgeous location. We are having our wedding renewal here and absolutely love the area. Nice place to sit and talk or just walk around with someone. Right on the water front so can be breezy at times. Great historic location really sets you back in time and its easy to get lost in the colorful history of Charleston when you are here. Parking can be difficult, however, so be prepared for that.
