Fantastic evening, lovely warm water. Food prices in cafe were very reasonable and very tasty. Great place for the children on a sunny day.
It's a nice little Lido, however I don't feel like the cleanliness of the pool should come second to the place remaining aesthetically Victorian. Although it is pleasing to look at I do believe it could be modernised and still retain a Victorian air about it. The layout is fantastic with patches of grass and mixed a month's the pool and the ice cream that is served at that lighter is absolutely fantastic but my point still remains the polls cleanliness should be priority number one.
Fantastic place to take the kids and a picnic. A beautiful place with loads to do. Only problem we had was a gang of boys and a woman try to accuse my family of stealing a bag. Which was there before we sat down. The woman was awful and the lads were abusive. When we were walking out the gang of boys cycled past us being abusive still. We had 2 young 7year old girls with us which became frightened. A beautiful place. Pity you allow gangs like that in there. As they were out to cause problems
Lido itself is well guarded and great for kids and adults. Went with 2 kids. 2 and 7 years old. Pool is huge with a couple of basic slides. Don't plan to park in the designated car park as always rammed and queued. There is street parking nearby for £1 per hour or free if you don't mind walking that bit further. Lido is in need of some repairs but nothing dangerous and more custom will guarantee future funding.
Large pool, clean grounds with lots of grass and a cafe that serves decent coffee and cheesy chips for hungry kids. Perfect on a hot sunny day!
Nice clean 50m heated pool and kids pool. Good cafe serving coffee, chips, ice creams etc. Well kept lawns for picnicing. Clean changing rooms.
Absolutely loved it. Great place to go when the sun is out and there a parking facilities which do require a small parking charge. Brilliant friendly staff and trained lifeguards around the pool. There are onsite toilets, shower rooms and changing rooms located near the front of the building and a small but busy cafe towards the rear serving breakfast until noon Inc hot breakfast and snacks throughout the day. We had hotdogs, burgers and chips and the prices range from £2 - £4.50 depending on what you wish to have. They also have ice cream available in a variety of flavours. The cleanliness of the park is great and the pool water is heated too which is nice as it I found it easier to get in and out without worrying about the temp difference (I don't like being cold). Apart from that it's a fantastic day out and don't forget your sun cream!
It is an amazing place great for a picnic by the pool on a summer day. The slides could have been better, And the sauna should have also allowed age 10up. But I had a great and relaxing time even on a cold day in April. I recommend you to go. Though it will get raver bessy on a hot day. Also the pool is heated.
A heated outdoor Olympic sized pool. Picturesque, spacious interia with lawns, fountain and seating areas. Smaller, even hotter, very young children/baby swimming area too, although we take our baby in the main area and he's fine. Pleasant cafe with good food selection. Gets very busy weekend mornings (half hour wait +) but is open till 7:30 pm most days and is just as enjoyable later in the day.
Wonderfully maintained Olympic sized pool and baby pool too. Sauna on site for over 18s. Cafe and sheltered outdoor seating area. Large grassy area and play area for younger children. 2 short slides into the pool.
Lovingly restored to give an authentic 30s feel e.g the wooden changing cubicles. Who needs mod cons when you can swim outdoors in a huge pool? Water temperatures seem to vary from visit to visit. The wooden slides are great fun for kids and there's plenty of green space nearby for them to run around. Friendly staff and lifeguards who are vigilant and enforce the rules calmly and politely. Tip: arrive when it opens, get to the café before the place begins to fill, leave as it fills and never, every go on a sunny day in the Summer holidays when the place is a crowded hell.
Kids loved it, great day out :) Ensure plenty of warm clothes post swim, as wind can chill quickly.
Great out door pool for whole family. Very traditional, well maintained and inviting to use. Visitors and staff are friendly and helpful.
Brilliant place. Would give it 10 stars if possible. 50 meter Olympic size pool with a couple of slides that are open on sunny days. Nice baby pool. Lovely cafe with good selection at reasonable prices. Also has nice little sauna at the moment. Lots of really good events on as well both in sport and entertainment. The outdoor cinema is excellent. The staff are all very nice too. Lots of lifeguards and helpers. Love this place.
