Nice short boat ride,30 mins plenty with young kids.wouldn't mind trying the 2hr trip one day.
I did the 2-hour cruise on the "Lady Diana" (there are two sailings, at noon and 2.30pm). Most of the seating on the two decks is inside, but the windows can be opened for ventilation and there's an outside area at the back of the boat where you can take better photos! Friendly captain with a great sense of humour. Licensed bar and toilets on the lower deck. On the way out of Chester we passed some impressive Victorian houses with lovely terraced gardens and boathouses, there was a commentary that I had no difficulty hearing because there were not many of us on board. The rest of the cruise was out in the countryside, between leafy riverbanks and meadows as far as the Eaton estate and the Ironbridge. No outstanding landmarks but the scenery was pretty and I spotted herons, swans, geese and some very large dragonflies! We were well looked after all the way. A very relaxing way to spend a warm sunny afternoon!
Great little trip. A must do if staying in Chester. Lovely houses along the river.
The riverside in Chester is lovely. Chesterboat have two vessels, one does a 2 hour cruise, the other is half an hour. Staff very friendly and helpful, and a tape runs describing certain points of interest on the way. Both my wife and i thouroughly enjoyed the trip, highly recommended.
Lovely ride out on the boats. We went for a half an hour tour with commentary. The price is a little steep for the length of time on the boat but the commentary is interesting.
What a lovely experience for Bank Holiday Monday! A serene and informative trip to Aldford and back turning by the Iron bridge. Very friendly staff including Lisa serving beer at the bar. Looking forward to booking another trip later in the year!
Staff very friendly, narrator provided useful and intetested facts about Chester past and present. Would recommend to anyone
Nice gentle river trip. So so commentary. Bar on board.
Glad I chose the boat option as part of the hop on hop off bus tour.Staff are very friendly and polite.Great value.Interesting commentary
A great trip in lovely weather, not sure now nice it would be in the rain. Bought the combined ticket with the bus tour, which was a nice way to spend an hour
Went to a party on the Lady Diana. Great night and atmosphere. Good food and price for drinks not bad. Disco on a boat with food and drink... Fabulous idea
Excellent value friendly helpful staff
I'm reviewing the 2 hour cruise. Staff were wonderful, very informative, boat clean and quiet, but after you left town the rest of the trip was quite boring until you got to the Ironbridge. You really don't see anything g of the Duke of Winchester estate. If you want a peaceful relaxing boat ride, by all means you will get one. Otherwise, the shorter cruise will get you about 95% of the interesting stuff.
Had a lovely time on the river with my children. Staff were friendly and it was great to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city centre for a little while. Paul the captain was great with the children. They enjoyed the adventure. Thank you.
Very informative guide on boat. Helpful staff assistance with wheelchair access ramps. Hot and cold drinks snacks and a bar. Very easy to find although parking is very limited close by. Very clean covered boat with opening windows for photos. We took the 2 hour trip and we're not disappointed.
For what is supposed to be a dog friendly attraction it is not great with dogs. We sat at back down the stairs and couldn't hear commentary at all just the engine and when one of our dogs started barking (not a lot) we were trying to quieten him and over the tannoy came "can you shut your dogs up!" we were obviously trying to do that so how they asked could have been much better.
Had a lovely 30 min Valentine's day cruise along the River with a glass of proseco and chocolates. The boat was nice an warm too on a cold day in Chester.
