Bhubing Rajanives Palace (Thai: พระตำหนักภูพิงคราชนิเวศน์, RTGS: Phu Phing Ratcha Niwet; also spelled Phuping or Phuphing) is a royal residence in Doi Buak Ha, Muang District, Chiang Mai Province, Thailand.
It was built in 1961 to accommodate the royal family during state visits to Chiang Mai. There is also a guesthouse for receiving foreign dignitaries. It is built in the mountains overlooking Chiang Mai, to take advantage of the cool mountain air. The rose gardens are particularly famous (Suan Suwaree), with temperate plants grown here that are not commonly found in Thailand.
50 B entrance ticket is quite ok for this nice place. Full of flowers, nice view. But can not enter palace self only gardens around. Take care your clothes, you can be not allowed to come in if not dressed appropriate.

It could be a lot more fun but too bad most of the part where we wanted to visit(like the rose garden) was closed due to (pesticide/fertilizer spray) Try the Bhuding Coffee shop just right before entering the palace. They have the most yummiest mancha jasmine green tea I've ever tasted.

Paths loop past extensive and beautiful floral displays on the palace grounds. Roses are especially popular with the royal family, it seems. You see exteriors of royal residences, though all are closed to entry. Modest clothing is essential--long (not 3/4) pants or dress, for example. Shops rent clothing. Easy to get to by songtaew or taxi from Chiang Mai. Admission 50 baht. Hours 8:30-11:30 and 1-3:30 but closed if royal family is here.

Very refreshing place. Lots of flowers. The whole area is a big garden. You can walk around & i would suggest 1 hour for this place. But to get here from Chiang Mai is not a pleasant journey. Lots of turning points which might make you little bit uncomfortable

The flowers are beautiful! Alot more time here so you can go around without rushing. 3hrs would be generous enough with all those picture taking. The trail is a bit steep so it's best to just take your time while walking. Comfort rooms in the area are very clean even at places where people rarely go. Be well dressed/covered when you visit. Shorts and sleeveless tops are not allowed. You can bring a jacket or a cardigan but they don't allow scarfs and shawls to cover your arms. If all else fails, you can rent a proper attire just outside the gate for a very reasonable price. It would be perfect for your photos too!

For 50 baht entrance, it is definitely worth it. The gardens are spectacular and the homes on the property are beautiful. Takes 1 to 2 hours to leisurely walk the grounds. You cannot enter the palace or any homes. They do require full length pants for men and women which I found to be silly (minus 1 star). But you can rent for 40 baht at entrance. Definitely worth visiting if you are here for the temple anyway.
Ryan RhodesMar 25, 2018
Worth the cost of entry. Dress code is strict as this was the first “temple” type location I was unable to wear shorts at, and had to purchase pants (for actually super fair prices compared to in town prices) to be able to enter. Tons of beautiful photo locations, hundreds of types of plants and flowers. We spent a few hours here and could have spent more. I would recommend blocking off 7 hours if you’re coming from Chiang Mai, we didn’t have enough time to really walk all of the grounds and had to rush everything.

Nice gardens, very well preserved. Good place to chill, relax and take some photos. If going to Doi Suthep temple this is a good addition to the tour because it's near, 10min distance by car. In order to enter guys need wear pants and girls to have shoulders covered. But if you don't have you can rent from a nearby store. Price to enter was 50 baht per person.

There are a lot of flower inside. Also, there are a few bunch big big bamboo. The rose is big and smell very good. I went around morning, there are a lot of butterfly and bee around the color. If you like flower, this place is definitely for you. You can spend 1 or 2 hours here depending on how much place you stop to take photo (definitely you will shoot a lot, LOL). You cannot enter to the building of the palace. Besides, this palace is built at hill, so you need more energy to finish whole path, I would recommend wearing a sport shoes so that you won't feel pain later at your foot. Overall, worth the ticket to enter this palace. A must go palace in Chiang Mai.

This is a must see when you are in Chaingmai, Aince arriving at the main entrance men must have long pants and ladies long skirts and cover the shoulders, few shops near the entrance that offer to lend or sell such clothes There are an great things to see, you can find a guide near the Ticket office, it is normally not too crowded but the Palace covers large area. Must see in Chiangmai

Peaceful place with lovely staff :) I recommend you dress conservatively , visit Doi Suthep then come here Motorbike not allowed inside but parking close by, lovely walk around the gardens

I don't know what I was expecting when I went to this place. Essentially when you walk in and expect to see a lot of different Gardens and that's about it. I really appreciated the Rose Garden which was massive and was enjoyable. However many of the different places are not allowed to be viewed by the public. There's also a lot of military at every corner that you turn. They essentially guide you through the whole place and you can see all of the exterior of the buildings and not once are you able to go inside anywhere. It's nice for walking but it is absolutely not what I expected. I would say if you have a high interest in roses than this would be exactly what you would want to do but for everybody else you may be disappointed.

Nice place up on the hills. Very pleasant drive. You cannot see the palace but you do get to roam around in the grounds. Do dress up appropriately as you cannot where shorts to enter the palace grounds. Jeans are fine

Well worth visiting if in Chiang Rai. Roses and other flowers that grow in more temperate climes grow well there due to the height. Temples, shrines and waterfalls to see on the way there too. Wear modest clothing (no shorts) or you will be refused entry. There is a small market across the road from the gate where suitable clothing can be bought.
Donald CampbellAug 12, 2018
Fit for the King and Royal Family! The access roads are good. Soldiers on guard duty were good-natured. Elevation and gardens provide a cool and beautiful environment. Royal Thai Army and workers keep the place well maintained and trash-free.
