Sounds really convenient and like a deal ,but it is not. Awful customer service - if you have an issue they are not based in Chicago so you need to physically mail the book in for a refund. I am still waiting for a call back from the manager from a week ago. Bottom line, don't purchase this. Even the people in the museums acknowledged that a lot of customers have issues and they are known for lackluster customer support.
City pass is a rip off. Do not waste your money or your time. We purchased one before we went to Chicago and ended up waiting in line with everyone else who was buying tickets in order to redeem the voucher. They told us we had to wait two hours at the skydeck just to get our fast pass. Ay Chicago 360 same thing happened. When we asked what is the advantage of the city pass we were told, gee I dont know. It is a rip off. Dont do it.
best thing to use if you are visiting for the first time . City pass allows you to skip long queues during long weekends and holidays.
My family of 4 and I visited Chicago for 3 days during spring break (Evening, 2 days, Morning). In this short time (with 2 kids in tow) we saw everything we wanted to see...Willis Tower at sunset, Field Museum, Art Museum (which is open late on Thursday nights), Science and Industry, and The Shedd. We knew to look for the correct entrances so that we could take advantage of the "fast lane" City Pass provides. We never waited in line more than 1-5 minutes (even on Saturday morning at The Shedd). Also look into parking with Panda Parking. It can save a lot of money if you use it correctly. I highly recommend the City Pass to anyone who wants to see the sights in Chicago. We loved our experience and felt like Rock Stars as we entered the exhibits ahead of some lengthy lines!
Great deal, AMAZING CITY. HIGHLY recommended! Didn and #39;t love the Adler Planetarium, the shows made me dizzy, but it probably just isn and #39;t for everyone. You can see the city line from the back of the planetarium anyways, which was my ultimate goal for photos. I wish I had chosen the Art Institute.
I loved it, we were trying to see the city on the cheap. Its really worth it, you’ll save so much money and really get to enjoy the sights. I don’t understand where people gather the idea that they won’t have to wait in lines, but you’ll have to wait in lines, it’s a huge city and they’re not the only people who bought CityPasses. The fast pass for Willis Tower was amazing, we only waited about 20 minutes. These passes so far have also been well utilized on our weekdays in the city.
This pass not only saved us (4 of us) a lot of money, but the fast pass/vip treatment saved use so much time. Would recommend this for anyone who wants to visit Chicago for the first time. At every location, make sure you ask for the city pass line (the short one). They are not always apparent/visible.
I would not recommend nor would I do it again. City Pass or not, lines are extremely long and over crowded. If it's a short vacation for you, avoid.
Two stars instead of one because you do save money. But im writing this review from the CityPass line at Shedd Aquarium, which we’ve been in for over half an hour now. We are watching regular ticket holders stream through the gate, as we move at a sluggish pace in the city pass line. Not worth the savings so far!
The cityPASS has an amazing value for its price. For $105, you get admission to 5 attractions, which average $40 for just ONE attraction. Plus, the benefit is huge for places like the Aquarium, the Skydeck, and the Field Museum, as I got to bypass HUGE lines and get to my attraction in about 10 minutes. The Skydeck had a 2-hour wait time, but BECAUSE of CITYPASS, I only had to wait 10 minutes. It is truly an amazing value.
Best way to explore all of chicago. Make sure you have atleast 2 to 3 days of time to cover everything.
Maybe the best deal I’ve ever had while traveling. No lines at any of the museums saved us literally hours. We were going to visit all five places so it worked out great for our family. I’ll look for it in the future when we visit other cities.
This worked great for us, especially where they have "Fast Pass"/"VIP" ticketing. Probably saved us 2 hours at SkyDeck.
