I've gone on small trips to this museum countless times with my older brother and I can honestly say that the art they showcase on the higher floors never fails to astonish me. The Museum of Contemporary Arts not only offers a variety of thought pieces to the people of Chicago (Free for the youth) but it exposes good artists and has a good spectrum of art. Every time I come back there's always something fresh for me to analyze and revel in.

Arrived at 3pm (closes at 5pm)... a little worried we would run out of time, but for our contemporary art itch 2 hours was just fine! Lots of cool stuff for sure, and lots of stuff a true contemporary art fan might enjoy. Personally, I am not a big contemporary buff so found some of the exhibits to be a tad odd - lots and lots of reading to go through. Well worth a visit, and 5 stars for being an awesome museum.

I loved the art and the museum overall. I did not like the attention from the security wards in a couple of galleries. I was told to put my small backpack in front of my chest or to leave it behind, so I had it in the front. I was very careful and I understand the measures to take care of the exhibitions but these guys followed me as if I was about to break something in any moment, very bad looks at me. This definitely spoiled my visit.

We really enjoyed this! Thought provoking exhibits were well displayed. I always like a good gift shop and this one qualifies— just make sure you find both floors. It’s not clearly marked. I would have been disappointed if I’d missed the lower floor!

I’m not huge on contemporary art but my wife wanted to go so we went. I really like the fact that they have a free coat check, a few of the other museums charged for it. As far as the exhibits go, nothing quite blew me away but I think that most who are fans of contemporary art will be happy. They have a few Star Wars items as well which was a nice surprise! Overall good time.

Great facilities and really spacious design. A lot of unique exhibitions and even talks with the artists. The museum is well designed and with a good flow, but I had an issue with the way different pieces by different artists were all clustered together, example shown in the picture of 2golden prayer statues, in front of a red backdrop, which isn't a backdrop but an entirely different piece. It's confusing and I feel that it hurts the individual pieces and concepts.

Visited on a Tuesday afternoon, the museum is bustling with visitors. I saw artists that I was not previously acquainted with on my visit and it was interesting to eavesdrop on a featured young artist explaining his installation to a group. It's very affordable ($15) and you get an $8 ticket if you are a teacher! It's not large and you can see all the exhibits in about 2 hours.

I would highly recommend this museum for anyone looking to see some contemporary art in Chicago at a reasonable price. This museum participates in a program that doesn't turn away potential viewers and has a pay what you can system with recommended prices for different individuals. I'd recommend paying whatever they request, but it's nice to know that they want people to have as much art exposure as possible.

My husband and I visited the museum while in Chicago for the weekend. It was one of our favorite parts of our trip! We really enjoyed the set up, the exhibits, as well as the store. Definitely a great experience. The museum staff was helpful and I really appreciated the free coat check!

Came on a Tuesday a free day for Illinois residents! Nice time alone. Great art pieces... a few I took pics of which caught my eye. There garage parking is expensive upwards to $30 plus dollars for a few hours. I got blessed with street parking 2hrs for $8. Also, checking out a screening presented by Open Television which was free admission as well!
