Daneben dockten Ausflugsschiffe dort an. Teile des Piers dienten schon damals der Naherholung mit Spielplätzen, Freizeiteinrichtungen mit Picknick-Bereichen, Restaurants und einem Tanzsaal.

Always a fun experience here. Very nice chill environment and a great tourist attraction. Navy Pier has a little bit of everything for everyone. I have gone here to eat, have drinks, take my children to build a bear, party on a boat and also have my oldest ride the merry go round. Although I am to chicken to get on the Ferris wheel, I am absolutely sure it serves a beautiful view of the cities downtown area and the lake as well.

A very nice place to go and enjoy and have fun with family and kids..The lake view and ships around by makes it a perfect location to capture some good pictures 😊.. The Chicago Children’s Museum is a nice place for kids to be occupied for 3-4 hours..The food court is awesome, having a wide variety of foods and drinks available..there are also some game zones for people who like to play some games or video games.. The Grand Wheel is USP of Navy Pier..it gives you an awesome view of Chicago Skyline and whole downtown.. Overall a full day fun filled event is a trip to Navy Pier ..

Handy place to look at the lake and grab a bite to eat. Beautiful views of the frozen lake at this time of year and very empty. I understand this isn’t the case in the summer. You get some nice views of the Chicago skyline here too. Best of all is the walk around it and views of Chicago from both sides of the pier.

Amazing place to visit, lots to see, and do here, some high priced things but mainly reasonable costing. Parking is not bad at all, although may be a little difficult to locate. We went on a weekend and even though it gave a rate for our parking, we were there only a short amount of time and we paid nothing for parking. We were so elated to have that surprise considering what we'd already paid parking in other places around the city, we wished we could stay longer and could've used those funds to do more while there. We loved the anchor, dedication and placards located at the end of the pier. Disappointed that no real historical information regarding the history of the pier was really there. Like first inventions that changed the world, such as first lighting up of the pier at World's Fair from Nicola Tesla whose lighting posts are still originally there, the creator of the pier, or even something showing the timeline of things associated to the pier as you walk along, etc. We could find nothing really like this along our visit that would captivate and entertain us along the outside walk of the pier. Again, great place to visit. Luckily, we knew a lot of the history, as it's why we came to visit, just wished more of the history of events the pier partook in was acknowledged and displayed for all to indulge in while on the very enjoyable, peaceful, and scenic walk around the pier.

Great place to visit and explore. Will be really nice when they get all the construction done and all the businesses back. Parking is easy to get in and out. The ladies at the help desk were very friendly and helpful. Love visiting here when I'm in Chicago.

A great attraction for couples, families, or friends that is undergoing a ton of work that will only make it even better. It was freezing out, but we were still able to enjoy the sights, views, and sounds within the building and especially outside of the building - including a beautiful sunset from the pier. When trying to warm up, exploring all the unique eateries, shops, and attractions was a treat. Depending on what you're getting into, you could spend a couple of hours here exploring and enjoying what its got to offer. There's even a ferris wheel! Would love to return during the summer when activity is much more abundant and the weather is a bit more pleasant.

We really enjoyed go to the navy pier. We went there twice during our eight day stay. The first day was quite chilly so there was very little going on outside but we did enjoy inside. The second day was like a nice early spring day and we Loved it. The flower and garden show was held inside and very nice. We would Love to go back there during the summer.

Had a great time at Navy Pier again. It's in such a beautiful area! Of course it's free to walk around, but if you do decide to get food or shop everything is pretty overpriced. The view is beautiful and there's so much to do! I was here for the flower show and it was pretty fun. Coat check was $5. I would recommend Navy Pier to anyone who hasn't been, but it's best to come when it's warmer.

A Must See! Great for tourist to explore and walk around. Lots of ships and restaurants. I went in March when it was very cold so it was pretty much empty. But I'm sure it get crowded in the summer. You get a very good view of the city's skyline from here.

Great visit for even after hours. They close at 8p so we were only able to take in some sights but not enjoy the eats and activities we wanted to do. Like The Centennial Ferris Wheel and the Fun Maze because they were closed. Plenty of photos on the lit stairway and the glass lit, and plenty of warmth, on the elevator plus had a bonus as we were able to witness a party boat dock in the pier. Can't wait to get back to this one.

Centennial Gardens is gorgeous in The Fall. The shoreline is worth a visit. Try out a boat if you would like. I like the food at Navy Pier somewhat but what is really nice is something else. Try out the Ferris Wheel for a great view of the city and photograph it if you dare. I like this place to just walk through to be honest. But it's hard not buy something a bit overpriced. So you might want to bring a water with you.

This was my first time visiting Navy Pier since they opened their doors years ago. It's currently being renovated so the inside area was a bit meh. The outdoor section was beautiful though. My kids absolutely loved the Children's Museum and are beginning to go back again. I would have liked to see more resident friendly pricing though. Everything was very expensive. I know this place caters to tourists, but for a city resident I can't see myself spending this much money to visit again anytime soon. Perhaps they can learn from the local museums that offer discounts to actual residents of the city of Chicago.

Lots of construction going on to improve your visit. It was annoying but you are not inconvenienced. The food selection was very good a huge assortment of Chicago restaurants. We were there for the Flower show and that was very nice and well organized. The outside Cafe were open in some of the restaurant and everyone was enjoying a cool spring day in March. Both the inside and outside of the pier was very clean and we'll kept. Our only regret was that the kids wanted to eat at McDonald's and it was more expensive than in the city and the wait was an hour for a few Happy meals. Never doing that again. Can't wait to go back when they are done with the remodeling. Will definitely be back.

We stopped at the Navy Pier during our bus tour. When we ordered our bus tickets they had a discount offer for the Ferris wheel tickets. I'm glad we took the bus there because the traffic was crazy. We really enjoyed the Ferris wheel. We had great views of the lake and city and overall a good time. The best part was a little 5 year old boy with his mother who were in our car. His running commentary of the ride was hilarious and cute. Great time and great people.

This is a very cool and nice place.... Very nice atmosphere and greenery. This is also very good place for a walk around,... What most interesting to me is the look from the top of the giant wheel. It shows very long distance view. The place and sitting area is very good and fine.... One interesting thing about this place is the geology of this place... I say this because this place has a very good greenery,, shipping area for boating, restaurants and other mind blowing sitting areas.

I didn't think I would enjoy Navy Pier as much as I did but I loved it. The giant Ferris wheel, the indoor garden, variety of food and drinks. Food was delicious. Great place for kids and adults. The lake and boats are beautiful. Boat rides, rides for the kids, margarita's for the adults. I took a lot of great photos!

Only suitable for taking some skyline photos and hanging out. The remarkable Pier gives a breathtaking view of the Michigan Lake as well as the famous Lake Shore Drive. Watching the sunrise moment from the pier is an exceptional experience. Otherwise, it is overpriced, overcrowding, and under construction. A wide range of food choices, though, it was much better to be the real Chicagoan by going elsewhere, which offers the iconic dishes with better quality and lower price.

This is a wonderful place to visit in Chicago downtown. A guided tour on Lake Michigan gives a picturesque view of the various structures around, the history of Chicago. The vast expanse of the lake and the freshness of the water all year is very soothing, with Migratity birds playing around. The Navy pier is truly iconic with a lot of history relating to World Wars. Eateries and scenic beauty of the place make it an interesting place for a family outing. This tour along with an Architecture tour on the adjacent Chicago river indeed makes it an exciting delve into the past, present and future urban living.

Went here for about 3 hours on our second day in Chicago. We went here during our Student Council Trip. The Ferris Wheel was fairly new, and was fun. The swings were fast and really fun. The maze house was fun and creepy. I like how there is a McDonald’s inside, so I could get a shake to cool down. The restrooms were very clean and impressive. Overall, we had a great experience at Navy Pier and would DEFINITELY come back in the future if in the area.

I have been going to this place for nearly 14 years since I was a child. Its great family fun. It is pricey so plan accordingly for funds for parking, food, and attractions. The bands are nice and they have restaurants/bars along the pier. The fireworks are amazing and the bot tours are fun! I love the Sea Dog skyline boat tour that is my favorite tour I have ever been on.

It was hot and humid. So, potentially on a nice day I wouldn't have enjoyed it more. There are tons of shops (mostly touristy gift shops, ice cream and food) inside. Then a lot of boat tours taking off from the pier. We did the ferris wheel. I noticed a lot of people standing in line to buy tickets. I feel like they should have a sign about this, but we paid for our tickets online and very very easily avoided the long ticket line AND saved a few bucks for purchasing online! We rode around 3 times and the view of the city was magical! Very pretty. It was also very nice to have A/C inside the cars. I do wish our party of 2 could have been alone, instead of sharing with another couple. That would have made this cool ride more of a romantic one. Oh well..

My campers went there to experience the Amazing Maze. Most loved it and the others were a bit scared. I love Navy Pier because it has a variety of activities that cater to both the younger and seasoned patrons. There are so many restaurants from Thai cuisine to American. Next, the outside scenery of the lake is beautiful. Here you can dine aboard one of the two ships that dock at the Pier or ride on a fast excursion on a speed boat. Navy Pier also hosts a variety of shows such as Exotic Flowers or Fireworks on July 4th. Overall, it's one of the best attractions in Chicago.

I was there to visit. There was alot to do. Places Rio eat and drink. The view was amazing... just the overall ambiance took over me. Family oriented but enough for adults to do. Others having fun on the water. One of the best attractions if you ever find yourself in Chicago.

Navy Pier was really nice! We visited for a cheer competition. Plan ahead for parking because they charge $30! There are other lots downtown with parking for various cheaper prices, but if you have small children it's not worth the long walk to the pier. You should wear comfortable shoes because the place is big. Also bring a jacket and umbrella/rain coat. It's cool/cold outside on the pier and because it's windy the water blows on you as if it were raining. There is all kind of food for purchase (McDonald's, Garrett's Popcorn, etc.) and even a Build a Bear Workshop here! Enjoy!

Clean and well kept facilities. Nice splash pad for the kids. The garden is also a nice place to relax. Other than that it's pretty much a tourist trap. We could get a nice sit down lunch for what they wanted for a ride on the ferris wheel. The remote control boats don't work very well. Overall, nice for walking around but not much else.

Loved Navy Pier! So family friendly, especially with the great artwork everywhere (sculptures) and the library. Ferris wheel, the swing thing, the beutiful green house, the river and lots of restaurants to choose from. Open til midnight, which was wonderful for our group. Loved the hot dogs and my favorite was the Pop shop place that sold ice cream bars. Delicious! Loved it!
