The Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower) is a 108-story, 1,450-foot (442.1 m) skyscraper in Chicago. The tower has 108 stories as counted by standard methods, though the building's owners count the main roof as 109 and the mechanical penthouse roof as 110. At completion in 1974, it surpassed the World Trade Center in New York City to become the tallest building in the world, a title that it held for nearly 25 years. It was also the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere for 41 years, until the One World Trade Center surpassed it in 2013, and had the highest occupiable floor until surpassed by the Central Park Tower in 2022.
The Willis Tower is considered a seminal achievement for engineer Fazlur Rahman Khan. It is currently the third-tallest building in the United States and the Western hemisphere – and the 23rd-tallest in the world. Each year, more than one million people visit its observation deck, the highest in the United States, making it one of Chicago's most popular tourist destinations.

Made me fall deeper in love with Chicago. The views were amazing and it felt nice. Elevators were kinda rocky, but cool to see the facts that they had listed. Would definitely visit again because it was so cool to do so. Don't go when it's foggy or raining, clear skies help for a better view. Nice shops inside.

Okay first thing, expect a very long wait to go up. Next it's a little expensive for what you get. But if you go at the right time of day I say it's worth it. Spectacular views of surrounding Chicago. We got up about 55 min before sunset, watched that and then all the lights of the city come on. The over hang ledge glass boxes are cool and the staff that help take your picture for a price are nice and allow you to take some time to enjoy it.

Great views!! After waiting an hour in line for the elevator. The top was pretty cool with glass floors. Don't look down!! I hope you enjoy it up here because you will be waiting another hour to go down. Plan about 3 hours for 5 minutes of entertainment. Or you could just go to the John Hancock Tower where it only takes 5 minutes to get up and back down.

It was a very cloudy day. When we went. Each staff member told us that it was zero visibility and asked if we wanted to keep moving forward or go back and get money for our tickets. We probably heard at least 6 staff members tell us that it's extremely cloudy and low for visibility. We went on anyone The view was amazing You could see straight down. And see all the way down while looking at angles. But horizontally it was bad. Couldn't see more than 5 feet in front of you If you're low on time left in Chicago, this is a must see! Cloudy or not Now if you'll be in the city for a few days, definitely wait until you can see it on a clean day Regardless it's an amazing view worth the money.

Beautiful view of the city from the observation deck. Chicago has a magnificent skyline and architecture and this place gives a great view of it in all directions. Price is a bit much. Go early to avoid wait time. Staff is courteous. Super fast elevators. They offer photo options with the sky view for additional price. This is a must visit place when in Chicago!

We had a City Pass and were able to bypass the line and get upstairs pretty quickly. We went during a time when it wasn't too terribly busy. The views were spectacular. The ledge was awesome. When it became time to leave the line to go down was pretty long. The staff started breaking up the line and we ended up with a group that went down on freight elevators taking three separate trips to get back to the bottom. It was a bit inconvenient but it was better than waiting in line. Definitely a must-see while you're in Chicago

Using City Pass is totally worth it. Less waiting time. The elevator ride is surprisingly quick. They make the experience quite worth it all. Souvenirs shop is a tourist trap...of course. The pictures they take are cool. They will also take one of you with your own camera. Very nice.

When you get to the top of Willis Tower the view is AMAZING. I went during the night time and it was even better! My ears did pop a little bit going up the elevator but all was good. I like that they have all the things that you see when you look out the windows to see everything. The souvenirs were really good also.

Definitely a must to do while in Chicago. Only downfall is the wait and the majority of the staff. The staff seemed annoyed and very bored with their job. They didn't want to help or guide us with our questions. There were a few that made it enjoyable. But regardless of the staff. It's a must do, especially if you're not from a big city with many skyscrapers. The view from the top is awesome.

Awesome view! After, a long 2.5 hour wait we finally got to see the BEAUTIFUL view. We decided to visit this place on Friday around noon hour. Oh Boy! it sure was a mistake. The wait time was long. However, other people told me wait time is a lot longer on weekends. The elevator was smooth and the glass ledge was pretty cool at 103 floors. It truly was a Great experience at Willis tower (aka Sears Tower for those true Chicagoans.) I will definitely come back during slow peak hours.

Did not have the wait as went during early sprint. Was nice . We spent about 3 hours took multiple pictures. Staff was helpful and informative about the details. Souvenirs from the gift shop are priced above what you would get elsewhere but that is expected. Try to go at a time that you can witness before and after sunset .

Holy cow, do not go here on a busy day, the wait time is insane. It took me 2.5 hours from end of line to the top of the building at the glass. To top it off, there's a line to exit the top floor. Other than the wait, the view from the top level is astounding. You can see the Chicago city line from the top, and especially when it's dusk... The view is amazing, so colorful.

I would recommend you do not go between 3 and sunset! Great place to take a cool picture and the walls are painted with funny sayings. But your waiting in line to ride up a fast elevator and look out a window. I wish it included the history of when it was the Sears tower since Sears played such a large part in the American economy for such a long time. RIP Sears and all other outlet stores.

First time visiting a true skyscraper! Went early in the morning and was able to skip a great deal of the long line we encounter the night prior. Quick check through security and you're on your way to the top! Wonderful sights to see all around, less you're afraid of heights. If I'm ever back in Chicago I'll absolutely have to visit it again! Wonderful!!

Privileged to work at Willis Tower when visiting Chicago as my office is there. Great views from observatory. Try to go off peak hours in morning to avoid long lines. Beautiful views of Chicago from the top. We took several pictures at the Ledge which is made of all glass. Had a blast as we were not afraid of heights. They let you take pictures with your cell phone and hence you are not obligated to buy their ledge pics. However the aerial drop picture they took was amazing so we bought that.

You can get. Amazing view from the city 360°.that's it...is not too scare but you can have fun. While you wait with your friend. I will recommend visit on mondays, That's the day we wend. We waited only 30 min. Or less. In line. If you like to walk you can park beside the tower. $28. For 24 hour just enough to visit other places in the city.

It was nice and worth the trip. I do suggest you plan in advance so that you can enjoy this experience to the fullest and not have to be occupied with the worry of waiting in line. You will have to pass a security check point so I suggest you pack smart. Parking is a hassle your best best is to find a parking garage and just pay the daily rate. Keep your ticket do not lose your parking Garage ticket. Also we enjoyed their gift shop you must not leave without stopping at their gift shop. Lovely experience will definitely be back again.

This building is still the Sears Tower to me. The view from the top is magnificent as usual. The lines are long however, so your best bet is a City Pass. We only had about a ten minute wait vs almost two hours for a general admission. The top is very crowded and the line to get down has almost as long a wait as the line to get up. That being said, the staff is quite helpful and as efficient as circumstances allow. Definitely a must do when visiting Chicago.

This place is obviously one of the most visited by tourists, and no wonder why. The view is just amazing, you're so up above everything, you can see the city, the buildings, the clouds, the beautiful sky, the lake and river from here. Also, don't forget to take pictures at the observation deck; be careful, it can be a little overwhelming at first, after all, you're higher than 400m+ above the ground. I would advice you to get online tickets, if you're doing more places, get the city pass for a more convenient fee, totally worth it.

I went early on a cloudy day, at the bottom they showed us a video of the visibility. You couldn't see a thing so I came back later a bit after sunset. It was awesome there was no wait at all. I had to wait a whole 3 minutes to get in the sky box, but that was it. Really good experience you can see a lot of the city. Very peaceful at night. Definitely worth a first time trip, lots of gift shops though. There is one at the top, one as you exit, and then another at the final exit, I found it more humorous than annoying.

Great views. The wait, I was told, for a Thursday afternoon around 2pm was over 2 hours. We had a city pass, so WELL worth the cost for that alone. This is NOT worth 2 hours on a line. Have you been in a plane? Yes? Well...the view is a lot higher (and more interesting). I'm not being flippant, just pragmatic-this is just a view from a tall building that you've seen before. The lines for the glass overlook are another set of lines (probably 30 minutes). I don't get all of the appeal with this place, but I guess different strokes for different folks...

We came here in 2015 and it was amazing! The view is incredible and the history they tell you about it is super interesting! The elevator goes super fast so be ready to get a little dizzy! It gets packed very fast so I advice you to GET THERE EARLY! And avoid weekends (unless that’s all you have) you’ll enjoy it!

Very good attraction in Chicago and offers a very good view of the city. 'The Ledge' is a must have experience. The lines will be too big at times going into 100s of people waiting already. Its worth the wait. Some people will spend so much time on the Ledge even when there are 100s standing behind to take so many pictures and even a short film (😂)

This is a 'must visit' in Chicago. The 360-deg view of the entire city and it's surroundings are laid out like an amazing canvas. Day or night, doesn't matter, coz both have their own appeal. And you can spend as much time as you want. The souvenir shop on your way out is extremely well stocked with all possible memorabilia that your heart may desire. Don't miss out!!! Had an amazing time here
