The Contemporary Arts Center (CAC) is a contemporary art museum in Cincinnati, Ohio and one of the first contemporary art institutions in the United States. The CAC is a non-collecting museum that focuses on new developments in painting, sculpture, photography, architecture, performance art and new media. Focusing on programming that reflects "the art of the last five minutes," the CAC has displayed the works of many now-famous artists early in their careers, including Andy Warhol. In 2003, the CAC moved to a new building designed by the late Zaha Hadid.

Great place to go view local artwork and new, insightful pieces. Not typically a huge modern art fan but I was pleasantly surprised with this museum. I especially loved the floor that was Interactive. That really topped off the experience.
Always interesting. A great building. Super exhibits. A wonderful perspective on art and life. It's in the heart of the city and offer some excitement. New views and ideas about what art means are always on the table.
Six levels of vastly different art mediums. Something for everyone including young children. Interactive exhibits as well. A great way to feel inspired especially on a winter day! Admission is currently free. Highly recommend.
Such a cool place! I visited to film a video for a school project and I know I chose the perfect location. I've only ever gone to "normal" art museums so I didn't know what to expect. The art was all so unique and fascinating! The range of the crowd was great. There were lots of children and adults looking very interested in the art. The top floor, especially, appeals to kids (and adults too!) The fact that this place allows you to enjoy art and unleash creativity for free is amazing. The atmosphere was wonderful. All the staff were very helpful and answered all of my questions. I know that they keep a constant flow of new art, so I will definitely be visiting again.
Absolutely amazing spot to spend a couple hours in a wide variety of contemporary exhibitions featuring exhibits from not very well known artists who are doing fantastic work and pushing the boundaries of the definition of art. I enjoyed every artifact inside with some ranging from the extremely small to the extremely large but the interactive artifacts are amazing. I love the flashlight activated music room. Great spot and shouldn't be missed.
A very thoughtful museum, if the art show cases don't catch your train of thought the contemplation room will. It's full of heartfelt little books to read made by artists, and their interactive floor takes you back to the core of having fun and being a goofball. It's a much needed visit if you want to shift your perspective on life a little
I don't normally think myself as interested in contemporary art, mostly cause I don't always get the artist's intent. But admission was free, so I gave it a go and was not disappointed. The pieces on display were aesthetically intriguing and in some cases evocative in a way more traditional artwork lacks. The gallery's collection was good in that regard, but two of the floors were closed during the time I was there. I guess another visit is in order!
In downtown Cincinnati this is a free gallery that changes exhibits on a regular basis. Some areas were closed off for new exhibit installation while we visited. The art we saw was thought provoking [dynamic 3 dimensional, motorization, video, and use of unusual materials in juxtaposition] and well presented in the space. One upper floor was designated interactive exhibit space geared for all ages. Four young boys and their guardian were having a great time there while we were there. There is a restaurant at entrance level.
This place is really fun and worth a visit. I was really impressed with the whole experience. I think it offers fun for all ages. The cost is free so there’s no excuse to take a stroll through and support our city!
This is a great way to spend the day if it’s unbearably hot or raining. Lots of stunning pieces and I LOVE the interactive section. Kid friendly. A great indoor stroll but DEFINITELY won’t take more than 1/2 the day.
Accessible art to anyone that walks in, without requiring you to buy an over priced drink. Thankful for the funding base that allows for people to have a rich experience no matter what is in their pockets. If high art is going to be meaningful to the world, it has to be made available to all to assign meaning and function to its concepts. CAC is a must visit for Cincinnati.
This was such an amazing art center! There were different pieces of art from various artists from all over the world. Then on the 6th floor, everything was touchable! I had an awesome time there! The views were also perfect!
