Did not enjoy my visit. The collection is impressive but there is little context and background being given. The most important piece can be seen from outside through the window. Just do that and skip an actual visit.

I really liked this museum it was fantastic. They had some very well preserved artifacts from the Roman era and the mosaic floor was beautiful. I would recommend this museum to anyone with an interest in history especially that of iron age.

A good sized museum dedicated to Roman exhibits and ruins left in the Cologne region after the Roman left. It's quite remarkable how much of it there was and how much has still lasted. The museum is easy to find as it is a stone throw's away from Cologne Cathedral. The museum has a cloak room, toilet facilities, gift shop, but doesn't have a cafe if you want something to drink. If you are in town and have some time and are interested in Roman artefacts than definitely try to visit it.

The centrepiece of this museum is a very nice and well preserved roman mosaic. The museum has a nice collection of roman artefacts, ranging from tombstones through glassware and daily-use objects to jewellery. However, the exhibition would need a revamp, since most inscriptions are written in German only and they are not written in a particularly captivating way, with relatively little background information. In our experience, hour and a half was enough for the visit.

Great! Just loved it. Museum on 3 floors. Basement is filled with old artifacts, on the ground floor is the main entrance, and there are not many things to be seen. But the third level was my favorite. From the usual ceramics to some great stone monuments. Just discover it by yourself. You won't regret it if you are a bit into Roman history.

Just astonishing. You wouldn't know it from the outside (nor the dated foyer) but the collections are superb. For a national museum of Roman archaeology this would be impressive, but it's just Cologne. Has no cafe, a tiny shop which is stocked seemingly as an afterthought. Somewhere with archaeology this good deserves to showcase itself better. Even a guidebook would be nice. Even so, if you're into archaeology, this place has 'wow-factor'.

Underwhelming experience First at all the people who work there seemed really uninterested in us and made no effort to help us. Furthermore the exhibits where very often not translated in English and especially French and even when they where, the translations seems shorter that the German original and often contradicted each other. The exhibits seemed somewhat interesting but that alone can't save the museum. Finally the overpriced tickets didn't help either especially when we where forced to pay extra for our bags

I can call it the second best museum in Cologne which is a must see for everyone who is interested to know more about the history behind Cologne. I personally have learned a lot and would like to visit again to pay more attention to details.

Museum itself is nice, the mosaic tiles are beautiful with elaborating explanation of details. Most exhibitions have English instruction. However, you have to pay 50 cents to store your bag, and the staff there was only interested in playing her phone and acted as if all visitors had owed her money.

This museum is fantastic if you have a fascination for Roman history. They have some very interesting coins, pins, jewelry, coffins, glass, door knobs, and typical household items the romans used. They also have an original floor that was uncovered in that exact spot and preserved and displayed for everyone to see. I have a picture of the floor that I put with this review. This museum is low priced, extensive, and the staff is very friendly.

Utterly pointless if you can't speak German. Feel like we've been mugged out of €18.50. Not worth your time or money if you're a non-German tourist.

A good museum with a very large collection of artifacts ranging from pottery to statues and it contains a lot of history and information. Although the tour guides can often be kind of boring. Otherwise I recommend going here.
