Going in winter to the zoo isn't very exciting as it was quite cold and many animals are inside. The zoo has been renovating for a new panda attraction so that will be exciting. We watched the primates being fed. The have animals from Asia, Africa and other parts of the world. The tropical bird enclosure is a must visit. It was a relief going in there after the cold. There is a petting area for kids to play with the goats and cows. There are also small restaurants and coffee shops. I would recommend going here for kids and adults. The polar bear is also a great attraction.

Even visiting during the winter season it was a blast. A few parts of the zoo were under construction, but most of the exhibits were still operational. They have the park divided up really well in case you only want to see certain animals based on type of typical geographical locations. There's an interactive petting zoo for all ages - highly recommend visiting that. I'm not sure if there's availability during certain months, but there were no piglets. If visiting the city and a fan of zoos, I think this is a great option. On face value it appears they take great care of their animals.

The experience was good. Have variety of species of animals and birds. Very well maintained. Even though it was a winter day, we had good time there. Recommended place.

The CPH Zoo should notify everyone at the entrance which animals are on display and why some are not. It is quite unsatisfactory to aim for specific sites just to find them temporarily closed without any signs and explanations.
Kristoffer Negendahlmar 3, 2018
Really enjoyed our visit to the zoo. Plenty of different zones to see the various animals Copenhagen have to offer. Jokingly it was a running joke that every zoo I go to camels seem to either be asleep or non existent. For this zoo to have them as their opening animal instantly gets a 5* I would highly recommend going up their Zooffel tower (hard to miss) some gorgeous sights looking over the city such as Tivoli Gardens.

Great visit to the Copenhagen zoo. Not too far outside the city and public transport stops right outside. Had to reduce 1 star as a lot of building work going on for the new panda enclosure. In sure it will be awesome once done though. The enclosures seem to be large enough for the animals to be able to roam around a lot and the keepers seem to care for their animals. Would love to visit again when visit again assuming the panda enclosure is finished.

Good zoo, was especially pleased with the brown bears which you don't see everywhere. Still have reservations about the lack of space for certain animals. The polar bear did a lot of pacing. Wholeheartedly support breeding programmes when species are endangered but do question it otherwise. Any way, as far as zoos go, not too bad.
Roger Housemar 28, 2018
This is one of the best zoo's i have ever visited. You can actually see the animals up close. The design of the enclosures means that there are so many angles you can see them. Just when you think you have seen all the animals you realise there is a seperate part of the zoo through and underground tunnel and has a great play area for the kids. I was so excited to see the polar bears they were amazing. Leave early to get the whole day out as the place is huge.

I visited with my teen son who loves animals, and we both left sad and disappointed. First of all, the entrance fee is very high considering there was a lot of construction and not many animals to see at all. The animals we did see was a mixed experience. The polar bear and the leopard was pacing in very small enclosures, it was heartbreaking! The tropical bird room was ok, but didn't really make up for everything else. It's easily the worst zoo I've been to. I'm sorry, I have to be honest. It felt like we'd entered a closed down zoo which had forgotten to take some of the animals with them. We didn't even take out the camera.

Great place to be on a somewhat sunny afternoon, in general it is one of the better zoos I have been too with nice vast enclosure. The tropical and artic viewing area are nice especially the ability to get close to kangaroos and birds are one of a kind. There is a lot of work going on for a new Panda enclosure, so hold off your visit till it's done to get a better experience. I did have a few issues with the zoo though, in case of the polar bear exhibit, the glass tunnel and prior viewing glass panes are not cleaned, this takes away from the experience substantially. I also found it hard to find a few animals, like the Tasmanian devil, zebra etc...
Rupertt Windapr 30, 2018
One of the best zoo in world. Though a huge part is under construction and that might spoil your experience if you go in recent future but I am sure polar bear and girrafe would make up for it. You get to see animals from as close as possible. With lot of options to eat and drink, it is an all day event. Definitely a must visit if you are visiting Copenhagen.
Vinayak Gagraniapr 17, 2018
Beautiful but bored animals from all over the world, it's worth visiting once just to take pictures...

It is one of the oldest zoos in Europe. Both children and adults can enjoy a visit to Copenhagen Zoo and the animals wonderful world. Here in the large garden the whole family can explore and come close to giraffes and elephants, walk around the rainforest in The Tropical Zoo area, play with the animals in the petting zoo and much more. There are many keeper talks at the zoo about everything from the elephants to the polar bears, and often the opportunity to see these great bears during feeding.

A very nice way to spend the day, outdoor so I recommend visiting when it the weather is fine. A lot of different animals and sections, with mostly interesting displays (some displays naturally make it difficult to see all animals at all times, but any zoo would be that way). In order to see all animals, a little bit of backtracking and working with the map is required, but overall worth a visit!

Big and really nice zoo close to the centre of Copenhagen. If you are on a vacation to Copenhagen, or just love animals, you should definitely consider to drop by for the afternoon. In addition to what you would expect to find at a zoo, they also have a tropical area for animals living in that climate, and a petting zoo for the kids and the young of heart.
Nemo Ashengiu 2, 2018
Copenhagen Zoo is a really great zoo. They have all kinds of awesome animals and they also had a sand sculpture competition going on while we were there which was really cool, they looked incredible. Overall I would definitely go there again. Also if you have a copenhagen card (which I highly recommend) you can get in for free.

Overall, visiting the Copenhagen Zoo is generally a positive experience. There are a lot of different animals to see, with more on the way (pandas coming next year!) and the conditions for the animals are steadily improving, which is nice to see. It can feel a little crowded if you visit on the busiest of days, but outside of those, it's not bad by any means. The biggest drawback, for me, is the prices, which are a little steep - both for entry and food/snacks within the Zoo. Still, this isn't enough to make it a positive experience overall.
Iggiannguaq Petersenlug 1, 2018
Visited here on my first day in Copenhagen, it’s free entry with the Copenhagen Card. The way the exhibits are laid out is a bit odd but it’s easy enough to find your way around so you don’t miss any of the animals. Some of the animals seem very stressed and off, especially the wolves and bears. It can be quite noisy due to there being a lot of children around but that’s to be expected. You can fetch your own food and drink which is recommended because the food and drink within the zoo is very pricey.
Thelug 6, 2018
I had a positive experience overall. There were numerous animals that you could visit and see (even though quite a few were hidden inside their cages due to hot sunny weather). We entered with Copenhagen cards which made it very simple at the counter. The zoo was well structured (A massive panda section coming up soon).
Mehmet Akif Demircanlug 4, 2018
Wonderfully laid out, large, engaging, inspiring, with a great range of wildlife. The habitats are designed to benefit the gorgeous animals but also help people have breathtaking close-ups. Can't wait to return to see the finished panda exhibit when it's done! :)
Caro Glug 7, 2018
Probably the most well put together Zoo we have visited. The animals appear to be thriving and the interaction with them is quite unique. The division between animal and visitor is often only a short low hanging rope! Great options for food/snacks also. The tower by the entrance o would say is a must see. You get a great view of the city and the parts from there. Have fun!!
Kenn Soendergaardlug 29, 2018
A lot of empty cages and construction sites. The overall experience was positive. PS: A peace of advice, don't bother going up the tower, it's a long way up, lots of stairs, and very limited payoff! The view is good but it's blocked by the net surrounding the tower.
