Howick Hall, a Grade II* listed building in the village of Howick, Northumberland, England, is the ancestral seat of the Earls Grey. It was the home of the Prime Minister Charles, 2nd Earl Grey (1764–1845), after whom Earl Grey tea is named. Howick Hall is the location of the Howick Hall Gardens & Arboretum.
Howick has been owned by the Grey family since 1319. A tower house, which once stood on the site and was demolished in 1780, was described in a survey of 1715 as "a most magnificent freestone edifice in a square figure, flat roofed and embattled" and with "a handsome court and gateway on the front".
Nice walks. Lovely tearoom. Red squirrels

The home of Earl Grey tea (which I don't drink) but the coffee is good too. Lovely walks, lovely food.

Beautiful gardens! There is an excellent collection of rare trees. The bog garden is my favourite. You can walk through the woods and a nice rockery to the little church, which is the burial place of Earl Grey. The tea rooms are very impressive and do lovely cakes. Last time we went there was a red squirrel on a bird table right outside the window.

Great "natural" gardens. A wonderful outdoor experience and a great "real" Earl Grey tea room.

Lovely house, although no access asides Tea Room and Visitor Centre (showing history and fauna). Gardens and Estate Church very pleasant. Owners continue to live on property and kindly opened their private garden for charity. Distinguished line of owners including 2nd Earl Grey - famed for Earl Grey Tea, although he'd probably prefer to be remembered as Prime Minister and for the Great Reform Bill!

Grounds lovely in the sunshine. Expensive to get in if all that is wanted is to get into the tea rooms. Tea room, although quite grand needs a bit of tlc. Better and more varied menu would be appreciated. Staff very nice.

A lovely place to wander around on a nice day. So close to Alnwick but seems really quiet by comparison which is actually quite nice. No access to the house but a really lovely tea room with top quality leaf tea and cakes.
