My husband and I love this area. Next time we come to Crete we want to stay right here. We were at a hotel about a mile away. But we walked here every day. It's stunningly beautiful with a mix of clear clean ocean harbor, great restaurants and shopping and stray cats and dogs that adopt visitors. I had cats sitting on my purse during lunch and dogs following us around being adorable.

The most amazing place to visit. Night time the sea front cones alive, restaurants and eateries galore. The walk along the old wall to the lighthouse is well worth doing. We were there in October and there was still plenty happening. As two women on our own, we did not feel the slightest bit threatened. Chania is a fantastic place, lots of very narrow streets, and shops and stall

A quiet round in march Just take a walk around. Definitely something to see there. Beautiful. You can also eat there...nevertheless the scenery is good but the restaurants look as everywhere in such places - made for tourists. ..for many tourists. If they would be the best i could not say as i haven't been inside in none .

The most visited street in the heart of Chania. You can see from there the whole bay and the lighthouse on the other part. Suggested also on winter time with windy conditions. Good spot to take photos of the wild waves coming up to the lighthouse.

If on Crete and visiting Chania (pronounced Hania!) it is worth going to the Old Venetian Harbour. It is lovely, the old buildings are nice to look at and there are a range of cafés and restaurants where you can sit outside, relax and admire the view and watch the horse drawn carriages which many tourists hire. It is well worth a visit.

One of the highlights of visiting Crete, Chania harbour is at the heart of the old town. There's plenty to see, both around the harbour and in almost any of the streets of the old town. Shops come and go but it is worth mentioning Leather Lane (actually Skridlof), where there's a vast array of shoes, leather bags and belts and the like. For restaurants I'd recommend stepping back a street or two from the waterfront, as those around the harbour are extremely busy in season.

This is a must see if you are visiting Chania. There are some very nice restaurant in the area, and tourist shops to visit. The restaurants are very close to the water in the harbor. There is also a Maritime Museum to see in the area. I have been to create 6 time and have came to walk the harbor every time.

Wow this place has history. Loved losing our way down narrow alleys time and again. Always found interesting little taverns regardless of being lost. The food, people and wine are only topped by the city. So glad we spent time here

Located about 90 miles west of Heraklion on the Greek Island of Crete, the Venetian Harbor is in Chania. The narrow streets are lined with shops, restaurants, bars and the old harbor full of hundreds of years of history. Walk out to the lighthouse or visit the only synagogue on the island. This harbor is magical and the people of Chania friendly.

A beautiful light house located close to Chania city in Crete. A walk around and on the stone mounted walls is worth a visit. Definitely I would visit this place again.

Despite the 1000s of tourists visiting this part of Crete, I was amazing at how enchanting this place is. A beautiful harbour surrounded by alleyways full of Greek charm. Take your pick of the eateries, there are plenty to choose from. Soak up the atmosphere at one of the busy harbour cafès or find a more secluded place in the labyrinth of alleyways. So much to see and do your sure to return to discover what was around the next corner..

One of the most beautiful "built" up areas... Get the bus into Chania and walk in, soak up the locals drinking their frappe, and join them in enjoying the stunning views of the marina. Remember to detour off the beaten track and get lost in the stunning back streets of the Old Town.

Perfect for walks. Offers multiple activities and restaurants, coffee shops and bars to choose from and see the sunset. Don't confine yourself to the seaside choices as one block inner there are much better options with AAA rated food (Instagram worthy pictures) and not so tourist-prices

Lovely old harbour with a great looking lighthouse. Plenty of restaurants surrounding the harbour. Can get quite busy around the harbour and surrounding restaurants but if you venture to the old part you'll find plenty of quite bars and places to eat without the hussle and bussle of the main harbour. Lots of small shops and alleyways to explore and even on our last day we were still finding things we hadn't seen before . Old part was definitely the best place for us and was there most nights . Will be hopefully going back again soon 😁

Very beautiful place with great views and narrow streets with lots of small restaurants. Good place to buy a souvenirs and clothes. Very crowded at evening. In evenings very difficult to find a parking place.
