It may be small but there is lots packed in. All the staff have extensive knowledge and if you spend your time looking around and listening to them, you will learn alot. They answered all our questions and we all really enjoyed it!
We visited the aquarium for the first time today after reading the reviews and knowing what to expect. I have a 7yr old son and when we arrived the lady at the desk was lovely. She was very informative and kind to my son giving him an age appropriate quiz. We very much recommend this aquarium and even though its small its value for money well kept and enjoyable. Will visit again. Thanku.
Lovely little exhibit detailing all the colloquial sealife, very helpful and friendly staff who seemed very knowledgeable about all of the species listed in the exhibit. Worth a visit.
It's tiny. Though i will say the staff here are brilliant. Very informative friendly and are confident with getting kids involved in feeding of fish. Shame it's not bigger.
Fantastic! Much bigger than I had expected. Very interactive, very interesting exhibits, very friendly helpful staff. I really enjoyed the Aquarium, It was a real surprise that it was so good. I have been raving about it for hours. Steve, Laurence and all the Staff were amazing. The dome which magnified the octopus was brilliant. The Big tank where you could view the creatures under water and see them at the surface was brilliant. I thought it was a great set up not at all like what I had thought. A lot of effort has gone into this and it shows. A big thank you to the staff for my lovely experience. 10/10 for sure
Very insightfull to have a real look at the marine life in the local harbour and more amd the staff were great! It was raining n we were just looking for something to do inside i didnt have high hopes but actually found it very interesting and it was great for my 4 year old
Quite nice to see an aquarium dedicated to fish caught locally. Staff are really helpful and knowledgeable - with the exception of the one member of staff at the front who gave us an introductory speech about the aquarium after loudly expressing her reluctance to do so with a colleague. The aquarium is a lot smaller than we expected (it is tiny!) and the 'viewing area' was a disappointing platform for 2 people about 3 metres off the ground! But it's crammed full of facts and information and there's a very traditional/historic feel about the place.
Really impressive aquarium given the size of the building. You're effectively taken on a journey from source to sea, with loads to look at.
Small, intimate and very enjoyable. Spent a very interesting hour in this aquairuium that is designed to show you aquatic life from the river, through the estuary and into the harbour and beyond. Staff were very informative and the whole thing is well designed and nicely done. If only the octopus hadn't been hiding!
Had a wonderful time here. Only a small aquarium, but lots to look at & see. Entry fee is lower than most aquariums, due to its compact size. Fun little quiz to complete for the children while walking through. Friendly & knowledgeable staff. Lovely little cafe to sit down at after, serving drinks, sandwiches, pasties, ice creams etc. Highly recommended!
