It is a great experience to visit not only Plaza De Armas but walk around the whole Historic Centre. Several good restaurants, museums and churches to visit. A lot of vendors offering tours but that is the way it is. If you say that you are not interested, they will not insist. Not only go through the principal streets, also take the lateral small steeps streets and you'll discover more gems. You can visit on your own or with a Tour. Both ways depend on your preference.

Very large and beautiful plaza. Many people will be seen sitting around or within this plaza. There is a large fountain in the center if the plaza with a statue and intricate details. The plaza is completely pedestrian friendly, no vehicles are allowed within the plaza. Surrounding the plaza are various restaurants, bars, clubs, and stores for people to visit.

Amazing views from Plaza de Armas. Really worth a visit to take in the sights and sounds of Cusco. Wasn't a fan of some locals trying to sell you stuff every couple of metres you walk but they are not pushy unlike some other tourist destinations in other countries. Was there for the Christmas Market and the the place was alive and full with stalls with nice hand made crafts.

Holy cow, I had never been in a place where I could deeply feel such history, culture, and excitement to be alive. Stray dogs everywhere might bug some people, but I loved that. Hawkers and peddlers are respectful though you do have to insist on a no most every time... Did make it fill a tad impersonal versus just being able to soak in the culture without being on guard. Absolutely will go back.

Watch out for shoe shiners who tell you one sol to shine your shoes then apply a protective thing and tell you it now costs 40 sol. Other than that the place is awesome. Good restaurants, clean streets, nice view of the surrounding mountains.

An awesome, scenic part of Cusco. Filled with people, dogs, and interesting architecture. This part of town is very touristy. However, it's that way for a reason. There are museums everywhere (check out the chocolate museum nearby!), and a ton of very good restaurants.

Stunning. That's the best word to use to describe this place. Everyday I go to this plaza my jaw drops. Just simply beautiful. Pictures do not do it justice. The only downside is how many people approach you to buy things and annoy you to do a tour of some sort. But it's beauty isn't lessened any by it. Just be aware that you will get asked to buy something at least 20 times while you are admiring the beauty you are witnessing.

Great place to visit, find a restaurant with some great food and drinks and watch people walk by. Lots of foot traffic as main plaza. Very beautiful buildings surrounding the Plaza and extremely clean!

Beautiful square with architecture and restaurants. It is a beautiful place to watch the sunrise or just stroll around. There are many people that are looking for tourists to sell massages or other services which take away from the beauty. Great place to eat on the terrace of one of the restaurants while watching the sunset.

Party central here... every single day I was there, there was a parade or a group of locals practicing their dancing. We called it our "home-base" as it quickly became our meeting spot prior to our next destination. Dinner spots in the square including Limo and Inka Grill were also phenomenal. Recommended for all reasons including learning about the history that happened at the square.

That's the lively historical center of Cusco worth your time. So many restaurant options around the place that you can easily eat a few weeks in different places every day. A few Churches and historical building that are quite interesting to see. A bit too many options to get a massage, but I guess people need to make a living.

Pretty place, often closed off to traffic. There are lots of people offering all sorts of trinkets, textiles, massages, drugs, but they are not aggressive - just annoying. It's very safe and well guarded, and full of people. It can get very cold at night. Prices at restaurants are higher than elsewhere, but the atmosphere is lively and again, the place is quite clean and pretty.

Great place to find a cafe to sit back and enjoy the atmosphere. Lots of street peddlers but if you say no they move on. The police do a great job in keeping the street peddlers in check. There's always something going on in the plaza.

This square never sleeps. There's so much interest going on here. We arrived mid morning so we headed to one of the cafes with a view over the square to have a refreshing cup of coca de mate to help with the altitude. We watched a local festival going on with lots of marching and lively dancing. This place is huge with a lovely fountain and gardens in the centre with lots of benches. On an evening there are locals practising their dance routines. Definitely a people watching place.

We stayed here several nights and we're delighted with the location, facility, staff and service. Breakfast buffet is great and easy way to start the day with some familiar food. We walked to several locations easily and also had excellent service from the Concierge services in planning cross country trips with a chauffeur. We will come back here again. I would not have changed a thing about our week here. Wonderful!

Great spot to see! We went in June, so it felt like there was a festival every day, if not more! You can really feel the pride in this city, and it all culminates at the Plaza De Armas. A must see if you're in Cusco, not so much for the site seeing, but for the experience.

A very lively place. Great place to just sit and relax. You can also enjoy one of the many restaurants and cafes. Very safe even at night. Traffic around the plaza is often restricted and traditional dance performances are an everyday thing.

Stunning landmark constantly buzzing with activity. There is something to see in every direction. Lots of places to have food and drinks - I would particularly recommend the rooftop bars surrounding the square which are accessible through the ground floor shops. Look out for the signage! Note that there are a lot of locals trying to sell you a range of things. From selfie sticks to hats and gloves. If you're firm with them that you're not interested they'll disappear.
