Located near the ferry landing for orcas Island, blue heron is right off the water. There is a quaint feeling to the B&B. Entry into the B&B is very simple and the owners provide clear instructions on how to get in. The common spaces are comfortable. The rooms are a good size and some have private bathrooms. The breakfast is light and is mostly toast, yogurt, coffee and orange juice. I would definitely stay here again.
Great place. Super nice hosts. Only complaint is I was up crazy early for a race and because it's an old house I couldn't help but make a ton of noise. But great location and super clean, would stay again!
We booked our travels to the Blue Heron B&B thru another service, one that requires a App and iPhone or other such device. That was somewhat complicated but having multiple ways to book is common these days. Kate was a wonderful host. (I saw Abe as well.) We stayed in the Walrus room. It was small, the smallest in the B&B but we expected that and it was clearly advertised. And it was perfect for our purposes! We had a medium sized dog with us and appreciate the fenced in side yard for her to do 'business' in. Breakfast was simple as advertised but it was well enough. It was also nice having the little coffee pot upstairs. Gaining the strength to crawl the short distance from our room to the coffee pot to ingest the require caffeine to make it to the downstairs breakfast table (where more coffee was found) was priceless. The Blue Heron has a nice view across the street to the marina and a 'seconds long walk' to the dock. There are little fish teaming in that there water along with a couple of seals. A noteworthy aspect of this location is the wonderful artwork around the interior walls. Kate is quite gifted at art and I understand from our conversations that Abe also likes photography. Perhaps we'll see more art the next time we visit.
