I grew up in Denver and now live 1 block from the capitol. I love bringing my dog here at night to chase rabbits. It's the only park around west cap hill that is very dog friendly!!

Go as often as I can. Bring the kids and family and explore. Climb the steps up to the dome and observe the city. Eat lunch in the cafe downstairs

Unfortunately, we were unable to take the free tour because of the time we went. Nonetheless, it is still a beautiful architectural building to walk. We read the signs and googled things along the way. I recommend getting the pamphlets at the entrance if you're walking it without a guide. There is no parking on the premises but right down the road there are parking meters. They take card.

I've been to the Capitol twice, taking the wonderful guided tour both times. It was informative and enjoyable and the architecture of the building is stunning. Well worth the time....

Be sure to take the official tour (free) inside so you can check out the dome. Great view of Denver from up there. The rose onyx stone used inside (only place in the world that has it) is interesting. Great looking stone work.

Cool historic building. Underwent restoration a few years ago. Looks gorgeous. Must go through TSA like screening to get into the building. Very informative free tour of the building and its history. Take lots of pictures. There is an information desk at the Colfax entrance. Bathrooms are in the basement.

The distinctness of each States’ Capitol building never ceases to amaze me. Colorado’s is no exception with huge, elegant dome stretching into the cloudless blue sky. The officers are security are super helpful not only for instructions at the Capitol but also for recommendations around the city.

They offer a tour that is about an hour long. There are lots of little facts thrown in unless you take the tour. The best part of the guided tour is going to the dome which overlooks Denver, but that is only accessible for those on the tour.

Usually only come here in summer and at Christmas for their awesome lights. Here today and the wife took a good pic, must share. Got to love Denver.

I really enjoyed the various pieces of art around the building. I also thought the architecture was beautiful.

This is a beautiful capital building. The inside was amazing to walk through. Unfortunately there was no tour when we came in last week. It was during the week, so not sure what happened there. But security said we were free to walk the building. Would have been nice to get a history lesson on what we were looking at, but it was still great to see.

For this that like to see period architecture, this is a good opportunity for a free visit. The spaces are superb, the gold leaf covered dome glints in the sunshine (300 days a year apparently) and the historic and contemporary artwork is fascinating.

The place was interesting place to visit but maybe not excelent. It contains interesting points but they are scattered and you have to find them. Maybe this is something expected considering main function of the building, but it makes the location less enjoyable. Maybe a small room dedicated to introduce visitors to the building and what to look for would be nice. Also I didn't see anything on the Hispanic legacy of Colorado. Maybe I missed it but if there isn't anything it would be nice to have something.

What a gorgeous old building. You should definitely take the tour and go all the way to the top of the dome. It provides awesome views of the city and all the way out to the Rockies. It is well maintained and the building is a great display of history. Don't pass up a restroom, they are hard to find.

I have recently noticed on a facebook post that you placed a picture of Putin on the presidential wall instead of trump. Bravo, but Putin doesn't meet the American presidential criteria. Considering I have met Putin before I'm sure he would not be offended if you put my picture up there instead considering I have been told since the age of 17 that I could be present of America. Ever since I wrote a presidential essay which I earned archive credits for. Im about to submit a new ideal for the community a public project that will bring brighter smiles to those involved and appreciation by the people that will enjoy this projects properties. encouraging Americas to live brighter and better future.

Interesting and informative your of the historic building available weekdays. If you go around lunchtime in the summer, the Civic Center Eats runs in the park across the street Tuesday through Thursday. There are around 20 food trucks with a variety of options and tables set up where you can eat.
