Bangladesh's largest & oldest zoo established in approximately 1950's decade. number of animals are regularly visited over here. The zoo exhibits more than 50 species of mammals and over 2000 animals. The aviaries at the zoo house more than 1500 birds representing 91 species. The two lakes at the zoo also host migratory water birds each winter. Visitors can also see 13 species of reptiles including snakes and crocodiles, and 28 species of fish. There are some mismanagement of maintaining such animals. concerned dept should take care of the issue.
National zoo of Bangladesh. This is the biggest zoo in the country. This place has a big open space. It will be nice if you go with family. You can have fun if you go as group. This place is really smelly so be aware of that. This is a very large area so be prepare to walk.
It's an amazing place to entertain and visit the Wild Life Here's our National Zoo. Here are 250+ species of animals here. You can enjoy the whole tour. You have a full day requirement to visit a date and meet with our beautiful animals. We need more collections but more and more existing collections are huge and interesting ((((Please visit this zoo while visiting Bangladesh or visiting Dhaka.))))
Good for holiday visit. Kids could enjoy different animals. But if authority wants much improvement could be done. Kids play zone is almost ruined.Food and restroom arrangement are very poor inside. Luckily we got a paid parking area. But I don't know how long this facility will remain available.
Dhaka Zoo is a hidden surprise. The Zoo has a wide variety of animals to see. The elephant enclosure is a good size, and an example of what future enclosures could look like. The grounds seem well looked after and clean. With a cheap price set the same for each person through the gate, the Zoo is well worth a visit.
The collection of the animals of the zoo is good enough. The place is also large. But proper care should be taken to the animals. Their food, cage, water all facilities should be enhanced. Deer, Peacocks, Birds, Monkeys are in large amounts. Some rare species are also there. Over all, it is not a must visit place but it will be still a good visit.
It's national zoo of Bangladesh. 164 acres. Children loves the place and good for short family picnic. There more then 120+ kinds of animals and 200+ types birds. Main attraction is Deer, hippopotamus and peacocks. Kids loves the birds, elephants and Tigers. Toilet is not clean in the zoo. Mosjid is good and near entrance. The area is cool even during summer as there are lots of trees with shade. Friday is over crowded. It takes all most all day to cover the place and sites.
The necessity for establishment of Zoological garden and Botanical Gardens in the erstwhile province of East Pakistan was felt at the very inception of Pakistan in the year 1947 as there was no such garden in the province. This was receiving attention of the Government science 1947. In 1947 dire necessity of establishing a state owned zoological garden was felt. A zoo park was being started at High court premises of Dhaka with a limited number of spotted deer, monkeys and few other species of animals. A master plan was approved with a view to establish a zoological garden at Mirpur in 1960. An advisory board was constituted for establishment and proper management of zoo next year. The zoo was opened on June 23, 1974 after necessary construction and procurement of animals from home and abroad. Till then it has been gradually grown into a beautiful and attractive zoological garden exhibiting animals in natural settings using modern method of keeping.
The national zoo seems to be more organized and cleaner compared to the previous time. Some sections are still vacant. The birds and animals are not equally well-treated and the wild environment is not up to the mark. Food, toilet and road facilities should be improved. However, despite the limitations, people still enjoy a lot, specially the lake areas.
This is the biggest zoo in Bangladesh. It's a nice place. The zoo is nicely decorated and kept clean. It's a safe place. A wide range of animals are available. The zoo also has a good museum.
Great place to visit for kids specially. The number and variety of animals is not stunning but kids will enjoy. Frequent sitting areas and toilets were noticeable, though didn't visit the toilets so cannot attest for their condition. There is a restaurant inside. Suggest comfortable clothes and shoes as the walk is quite long and the road very uneven. Caps would be better than umbrellas as they would soon become a burden to carry around. Over all a great trip within city that everyone in the family can enjoy.
Bangladesh National zoo is a place where we can see the wild animals face to face but the difference is that they are trapped in cage . Here you can see different kinds of animal different kinds of plants different natural views . In national zoo different kinds of people come to see the wild animals. Many people come for photography many to hangout but it's not a good place for hangout . Every year new kind of animal in national zoo . In national zoo there artificial pools where you can crocodiles, hippopotamus and other aquatic animals . 🐍 Snake are trapped in cage made of glass . Dears are trapped in a very large cage the cage is almost like open ground . When you enter into the zoo you will hear roar of 🐅 tigers, lions many people are scared by roar of 🐅. In middle of zoo there is a museum where you can see different animals which are preserved by formalin , different ancient animals which only remain in history . There is a skeleton of blue whale which is artificially made . To see all this stuff you have to buy tickets . I think it is a good place to know about animals their nature ,behavior, habit and a lot more....
The place is well maintained and clean. But it's the nature of us to through things here and there. And there are well managed public toilets in different places. There are places for children too. There are small parks for children in the zoo premises. You would require the whole day to cover the whole area properly. I wish ppl visiting this place would not through their food waste and and other things here and there. There are dustbins for that. We can help to keep place clean and enjoyable to others.

Negligence of the officials to maintain the standards is observed. But the place makes one nostalgic for the local visitors. its spaciousness makes it a fun and popular spot for picnic for family and friends, away from the hustle of the busy capital.
My attention was next drawn to the cage in which there were two big snakes. They seemed to be asleep. The sight of the snakes made my blood creep. Then I turned my eyes from them at a porcupine. I then saw some deer whose beautiful eyes attracted me. I turned away from them to the place where the tigers were held in a cage. They greeted me and many others with loud growls. They impressed me with their majesty. I felt rather happy when I visited the birds. They were of various colors and shapes. They were large in number. I saw two crocodiles kept in a small pond. I also saw a gorilla. I also visited some other beasts and water animals. I was beside myself with joy. I spent several hours. There were some fast food shops. I took light refreshment. The environment was calm and quiet. The natural scenery of our national Zoo is very beautiful.
This is Bangladesh National zoo . This is very big area . lot of animals are here. This is a good opportunity for everyone who can saw animals live view. Specially student & baby . They are enjoying so much. They are receiving lot of knowledge about animals like 🐅, 🦁, 🐍, elephant etc. If you can interested to look this view with your family .it is the best place for you & your family.
It's a very good place especially for children for amusement purpose. Whenever you are here for a visit, please take enough time time on hand otherwise you will not be able to cover the whole area thoroughly. One thing keep on mind as it's a hectic place, so please visit there at noon especially if you are with your family. If you are here for the first plase find the map at the entrance, otherwise you will feel like a loop here. Don't visit the Lion and tiger's cage if you don't like odor.
Good place , especially for kids. Quite big area. Almost all animals , birds are available there. Fresh rooms are not clean . Inside the zoo area some places are not safe. There are organized fraud group they can make you face very off situation. Especially their is young unmarried couples. Security is very week.
