La fontana di Dubai (in inglese: The Dubai Fountain) è un sistema idro-coreografico situato sul lago artificiale Burj Khalifa al centro della città di Dubai, negli Emirati Arabi Uniti. Questo articolato sistema di fontane è stato progettato da WET Design, una società con sede in California, responsabile anche delle fontane al Bellagio Hotel Lake di Las Vegas. Illuminato da 6.600 luci e 50 proiettori colorati, la vasca è lunga 902 piedi (275 metri) e le fontane sparano acqua fino a 150 piedi (45 m) accompagnato da una gamma di musica araba, classica e contemporanea riprodotta attraverso gli altoparlanti intorno al lago. L’intera costruzione è costata 800 milioni di AED (218 milioni di Dollari Statunitensi). Il nome della fontana è stato scelto dopo un concorso organizzato dalla casa edile nonché sviluppatore del progetto, Emaar Properties, il cui risultato è stato annunciato il 26 ottobre 2008. I test sulla fontana sono iniziati nel febbraio 2009 e la fontana è stata ufficialmente inaugurata 8 maggio 2009 insieme alla cerimonia ufficiale di apertura del Dubai Mall. La Fontana di Dubai può spruzzare 22.000 galloni (83.000 litri) di acqua. La fontana contiene cinque cerchi di diverse dimensioni e due archi, inoltre spruzza l'acqua in molte combinazioni e schemi differenti. Il raggio di luce dalla fontana può essere visto da oltre 20 miglia di distanza (quindi circa 32Km). La responsabilità di selezionare la musica da utilizzare nella fontana è stata affidata a Peter Kopik, responsabile della coreografia di WET Design.
L’utilizzo della fontana è quello di intrattenere i numerosi turisti della città di Dubai in diversi momenti della giornata. Molteplici sono state le coreografie messe in atto dalla inaugurazione della fontana ad oggi. Gli spettacoli hanno una durata che va dai 3 ai 5 minuti. Negli spettacoli vengono riprodotte Hit che hanno fatto la storia della musica accompagnate dal danzare delle fontane, giochi di luce e dallo spegnimento totale dell’illuminazione circostante per rendere gli spettacoli ancor più coinvolgenti e suggestivi. Fra i diversi spettacoli avvenuti sicuramente emergono quelli che vedono come protagonisti musiche di autori come Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston e Andrea Bocelli.
Very pretty! It gets very busy very quickly. The fountains are a popular destination for all the tourists but its worth seeing at least once. Easy to find when you're walking around the mall. It's surrounded by all the restaurants so it's a busy place but it's very pretty!

During the day you can see 2 shows. And in the evening from 6 to 11 every half an hour you can enjoy another song and choreography. All the area around the fountains is just beautiful and with the fountains it feels like some other world. :)

Eye-pleasing sights. The fountain is inside The Dubai Mall. Every 15 minutes there is a fountain show. Make sure you are standing in the perfect place to have a view of this show. For travellers, it is a must visit place. The entrance is beautiful. Watching the fountain show is one of the most satisfying experiences.

This is the best water fountain show I've seen. Timings are from 1800 to 2300 hrs and the show happens every thirty minutes. Different songs and choreography each time. It's even better if you are able to grab a table in many of the waterfront restaurants and have your food while enjoying the fountain show. Otherwise there is plenty of space to sit or stand and watch . There is an option of using the boat to watch the show up close but I feel the view is better from the waterfront. Must see activity in Dubai

The Dubai fountain is certainly a must see. But you just need to avoid the weekends if possible, as it would be too crowded to enjoy the show. The new Apple store terrace is the perfect spot to watch it from if you are willing to go through the store first.

Very nice place to spend some time. Been here few times and will definitely come back again! Different themes, the lights during evenings, the music and of course the show itself is just awesome! Less people after 9PM.

A must see in Dubai. Love the music and the dancing water. Go in the later afternoon with fewer people. At night it will be too crowded. But still amazing view and best enjoyed with good weather.

It's a magnificent attraction especially for tourists from different countries. Playing different songs and music from around the world, sometimes they can be very creative with the song and the water dance. You don't need to stand for each half an hour to watch the water dance, you can go to any café or restaurant overlooking the fountain. It starts playing usually at 6 pm for every half an hour, the best usually at 6:30 during sun set.

The Fountain is a unique place with a unique offer. The water dance is majestically. Although, you may find it annoying getting stuck among hundreds of people. The show is every half an hour so better secure a spot before it starts. There are many restaurants where you can dine and have a nice view of the Fountain.

I saw fountain shows from a ground and from highest floor on the World on 148th level. From ground show looks better. But a lot of people around in evening time.

Outstanding attraction taking place from 18.00 at every 30 minutes. There are plenty of shows which differs in music and water games. I would suggest to come at least 20 min before the show in order to get a nice point of view either from the ground floor or from the Apple store balcony.

A great spectacle, amazing show even... see it ... if you're there! So would we recommend getting there early and waiting around for an hour or so for the first show of the night, just so you don't miss it? No... You need to know it's probably under 5 minutes of spectacle. It'll fire up again evey half an hour, to different music each time so just catch the next one. It really is quite impressive, but I wouldn't go there just for this. It's worth hanging around a bit at the end of your day at the Dubai Mall for though. I suggest you get a shake at Shake Shack, kick back and wait for it to do it's thing, be amazed and then crack on for the evening. Enjoy!

Nice to see. Starts at 19:30 during Ramadan. Make sure you walk further when you get outside the mall as the views are better there. Make sure you’re here a bit earlier before the show starts as it can get really crowded. The show is only 3-5 minutes though...

The display was absolutely amazing - loved the way the fountain moved to the music. Well worth watching it if you're at the mall. Only gave it 4 stars as it only goes for a couple of mins (one song) so it can be disappointing if you've waited a long time for it!! Recommend finding a table at one of the surrounding places to eat e.g. Shake Shack, to get a good view a long with a seat.

Just passing through - great way to end the night Visited the Mall and ended up here at the waterfront. Only stayed for a little while as we had a long day. Lots of people watching the water show. Great way to end the night. This wasn't on the agenda of things to do. Glad we stumbled across this. Plenty of cafes and restaurants to rest your feet or for a feed.

This should be at the top of must do things in Dubai. The best musical fountain I've seen. The synchronized movement of the fountain with the music is excellent. Get onto the boardwalk or lake ride to get the perfect view of the fountain when the place is crowdy. There will be a show for every half n hour from 730PM to 1130PM. Stay there for at least 2 shows.

Exquisite, and must see when at the Dubai Mall. This building is iconic in Dubai and beyond. For a fee you, and if you don't suffer from acrophobia, take the lift to the highest floors. You'll be amazed by the views. Definitely something to write home about.
