Very nice and competent staff. We had a good fun during the whiskey tour. You will know a little more about whiskies. There are two pubs one downstairs and one up. Both are very small. It is worth to visit. In the price of a ticket you will get 3 shots to taste (as you can see on the picture)
The host was really awesome Naemh, (hope that's right) and she really knew her stuff and kept it interesting. As a nerd, I wanted to learn about all the stuff anyway but she made it so much fun and interactive so we really loved that part. It actually seemed like she enjoyed her job which made it that much more awesome. You get 3 whiskey shots and learn how to take them which is a lot of fun. It's very interesting to see how much goes into it ! You should really check this out even if you don't like whiskey. It really teaches you a lot and I found it completely worth the 15 euros.
Amazing! I recommend this to anyone! Our guide John was really nice and knowledgeable that even non whiskey lovers enjoyed it.will definitely return if I come back to Dublin. I recommend the blending experience because you get to blend your own whiskey and take it with you. Thanks for this amazing experience!
We had a great experience with our tour guide. She was very knowledgeable on the history of distilling Irish whiskey and the historical events leading up to the current Irish whiskey scene. Down to earth and was a pleasure to chat with. Visited the bar before the tour. Bartender was funny and recommended a couple whiskeys which we tried. Overall a fun, enjoyable experience.
I enjoyed this tour way more than the Jameson tour. At the whiskey museum they teach you the history of Irish whiskey and explain the difference between the different types of whiskey during the taste testing. Get the premium testing it's only a few dollars more and worth it. If you enjoy whiskey this is a must do while in Dublin.
Great time at the Irish whiskey museum! The tour was good and very informative. The tour guide, Mark, was very good. So knowledgeable and funny! This is a good place to go to to understand the history of Irish whiskey. Definitely a recommended adventure for everyone, tourists and locals.
This was a great tour. Our guide was very engaging with us. He spoke to each one of us about whiskey and declared his intent to educate us all on Irish whiskey. The tour was very educational and a lot of fun as well. I went to this one because it was not owned by a whiskey company so they don't have to push their own product. At the end of the tour there was a tasting. I'm not big on whiskey but if I had a mind to I could have gotten properly drunk.
Loved it! I thought the experience might feel a little tourist-y, but it was actually a really fun and informative tour! Our tour guide, Mark, was absolutely fantastic! The tour itself lasts about an hour and ends with a whisky tasting, and it's a great deal for the price!
My wife and I had a great time at the museum. She is not a fan of whiskey, so we were worried she wouldn't have a good time, but we took a chance and went for it. Our tour guide John was very friendly and knowledgeable. He did a good job of engaging with everyone on the tour and teaching us about the history of Irish whiskey. When we got to the tasting, John did a good job at getting different opinions of what we thought of the whiskeys we tasted. Although my wife still didn't enjoy tasting them, she still had a great time and John suggested some whiskey cocktails that she may enjoy. The gift shop had a nice selection of mini bottles of whiskey along with other interesting gifts. If you're looking to kill some time in Dublin or have an appreciation for whiskey, this is a must visit!
Went with my sister while on a trip to Dublin. We had a fantastic time listening to John, our guide, and learnt quite a bit despite being Irish and liking whisky already. John has a wealth of historical and present knowledge on whiskey and brands, so definitely pick his brains if you want to know more. The whisky tasting at the end gave a good range of different Irish whisky, with each being a separate style, to show the complexity and choice we have in the country with good whisky. Its also refreshing that the whisky museum is not associated with any distillery or company, which means they give as unbiased a review of Irish whisky as you'll be able to find. Definitely make a hour or 2 of time to have the tour. The tour is an hour, but you can take your time with the tasting at the end and chat with the staff and other guests!
My husband and I had a wonderful time on the whiskey blending experience tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and nerdy. I'm not sure if everyone got his sense of humor and wit, but we loved it and learned so much. Would gladly recommend it to anyone wanting to learn more and sample a few whiskeys. We also spent some time getting a flight of older whiskeys at their bar. Everyone was attentive and friendly.
Terrific Whiskey and Brunch Experience! On a first glimpse it may sound odd to go for a Whiskey tasting at 10 a.m. in the morning, followed by a brunch. However, we were the first group to enter the doors in the morning, enjoyed an entertaining and highly interesting tour and learned from the best on how to taste Whiskey and our personal preferences. We had brunch right after the tasting which set us off for a great start to the day. I absolutely loved the visit to the Irish Whiskey Museum and highly recommend to pay them a visit. - it is worth while. Staff are all very friendly and one can see that they enjoy what they do. Thanks again for having us and for introducing us to the world of IRISH Whiskey 😀
This was such a great experience! We did the whiskey blending experience with Mark and it a unique spin on a tour and tasting. The tour goes through the history of whiskey and how it is made and ends with the blending. They provide 4 hefty tastings of quality whiskeys that you blend to create your own whiskey to take home. My husband and I are excited to get to drink our whiskey now back home as an extension of our trip.
With only a short time in Dublin, very glad we made this one of our stops. The tour and history of whiskey making was very interesting. Mark-with a k- our tour guide was knowledgeable and a heck of a lot of fun. We did the Premier tasting, so had 4 different whiskeys from different distilleries. Worth the extra fee Euros, because that last one is really yummy! We have a couple new selections at home now😊.
Eolin was an energetic and warm host. The guided room by room, floor by floor tour kept the experience light hearted and fun. The whiskey tasting and blending at the end was very generous and truthfully a little too much for my girl friend and I on an empty stomach. One suggestion I had, was that they give the guests a pour in the beginning to space out the overall volume given. In the end it was something a bit different and provided tastings with the tour, can't complain about that!
One of my favorite places to visit. Great whiskeys cocktails and great choice of whiskeys to try out. Staff are very knowledgeable and super helpful to fine a whiskey that suits your pallet. The tour is first class and very entertaining and great value for money. Just to go to the bar and sit and watch the world pass by out the window with you favourite whiskeys in you hand is a pleasure.
We had the best time here! Frankly, we had not heard of it before but someone had told us about it earlier in the day. The "guide??" was so funny!!! She was also highly informative, as was the video. Having been through many wine tastings (we have lived in the wine country of CA), and a few beer and olive oil tastings, I can definitely say this one was much more fun! You may choose 3 or 4 whiskeys to taste during your tasting. I enjoyed myself and was perfectly happy with the three.
And absolutely amazing experience. Our tour guide Shannon, was very engaging and interesting. We did the blenders tour which included whiskey tasting and a chance to try blending our own. The whole experience was interactive and you really get the chance to learn about the history of whiskey un Ireland and how to identify what type of whiskey you like. All in all a great few hours. And the lady who runs the bar is also awesome!
This is an absolute must do for whiskey lovers visiting Dublin! The Museum is independently owned, with no singular brand focus. You'll get a good rundown about the history of Irish Whiskey, the various distilleries throughout the centuries, and the economic impact both domestically and abroad. Mark was a fab guide, highly recommend his tour if you can get it! We chose the 20€ premium option and were pleased with the value (especially the 12yr old whiskey!)
So much information! Really enjoyed my experience. Great choice of whiskey to choose from. Cheaper than Jameson tours and a better selection. Would highly recommend to family and friends. Joni was hilarious and very easy on the eyes.
