Using this car you could see a big view of Dubrovnik City. What a wonderful world there. I see calm Balkan sea with a combination of castle that still in a great condition. Higher perspective give you a meaningful understanding about a nature beauty. Ya Allah, please give me a chance to come back to this city with my family.
We visited off peak season so it was very easy to just hop on without any queues. The views from the top are amazing! I'd imagine in peak season you would need to queue for some time. It's quite expensive. At the top there is a nice restaurant on the top of the cliffs and another inside. There's a museum / exhibition about the war too which we also visited.
A dubrovnik must do. But actually walking to the top would have been better. Amazing place but a bit too touristy these days.
Central location easily walkable from the old town. Quite expensive for what it is but the view across Dubrovnik on a sunny day is well worth it. There is a nice restaurant at the top with outside dining. There is also an exhibition of the civil war next to the restaurant. Tours are also available for a fee at the back of the restaurant.
Get there early there can be Long queues. Also prebuy your tickets elsewhere as you can get deals. Watch out for cab drivers trying to offer you road rides instead they will say it's cheaper but actually it ends up the same and you'll have missed the ride in the cable car.
Another must see atraction. A unique experience with extraordinary viewing. Amazing. Only bad is too often closed. Dubrovnik is pretty windy and rainy too, so I hope you can bring a dash of luck with you.
Awesome views. Spectacular sunset. Don't miss
Modern cable cars with excellent views of Dubrovnik. Worth having a meal at the top. Cars were frequent enough at the beginning of May and we walked straight on at the bottom with a wait of just a few minutes at the top.
Great views of Dubrovnik and nearby islands. Be sure to see the war museum here--an excellent overview of the siege and defense of this beautiful city.
Last car down is 8pm in April. Google says 10pm so we paid for a return and missed the last car by 2 minutes!!! When I asked the cable car attendant how we would get back to the city if the cable cars had finished, his rude response was "I don't know". Also, its much cheaper to get a cab up and down. Cable car is 140kuna per person return. Cab was 55kuna down after the staff at Panorama restaurant kindly called one for us.
Paid for a return but last car down is 8pm, though nobody tells you this. It's available on their website but as I'm in a foreign country I can't check the page so relied on Google. Staff couldn't care less, said they had no idea how we could get down and walked off. Got a cab that cost 55 kuna in the end, should have got one up too and saved 170 kuna. As it's so expensive and the staff are rude and unhelpful I would recommend getting a cab and forgetting about the cable car. Staff in Panorama are amazing and called the cab for us, cable car staff could learn a thing or two from them!
To have a good view you must jump the fence and go to some rocks near the border. Almost the all open area is occupied by a restaurant, besides this, the post that supports the cable the was installed in the middle of the view to old town. The fortress that can be seen from the bottom can not be visited (only a small room with pictures from local war).
A beautiful view of the old town We enjoyed the short but impressive ride up and down the cable car. The views are magnificent and allows you to see the size and scope of the old town. There is also a very nice restaurant at the top.
Though we arrived into peak traffic - a long trail waited already at 9.15am in the hot sun, it was smooth to get on the cable car. We found the service very efficient and friendly. Thank you Dubrovnik!
We walked it.. was beautiful. And saved 20 Euros each. Then had a nice brunch at the Panorama Restaurant . fantastic view. Wear good footwear, no flip flops.
Lovely views from the top, nice restaurant at the top too, just be mindful when it's busy you may not get space to sit outside. Food was great - bit pricey but then its a tourist attraction site, so expected. Best to plan your visit especially if you have children with You, we found the old town very busy and it was very hot on the day. The cable car is outside of the old town, and good option if you want to get an overview of the entire town. Queues for the cable were flowing on the day, service is good and the cable car is efficient. We thoroughly enjoyed it and got some amazing pics too.😊
Awesome views on the way up and way down. Cool panoramic bar at the top. Only takes 3:30 minutes to get to the top. We thought the cable car was going to be super packed and not ventilated. It was just the opposite. Good amount of room and air vents all throughout overhead and a few at the front and back as well.
Ride lasts about 10 Mins. Well managed. Sometimes queue for ticket are longer than actual entry queue, so check which queue you are joining. View from top is good, and different from even the topmost point inside the old town. You can see the Old Town, surrounding hills and islands. There are a couple of restaurants, which we didn't go to.
Opening times vary and seem to depend on expected demand. Expensive for 4 minutes but offers superb views over the old city and the mountainous views around. Early start recommended as the viewing platform can get very crowded after several cars have ascended. Restaurant does not open early. Priority given to guided tour groups so prepare to wait if an independent traveller.
I must to say I’m back in Dubrovnik after 18 years and has change a bit. The cable car is a good idea 150 kunas for a round trip you can pay with cash or cards ... it takes only 5 minutes to reach the top of the hill. The views of Dubrovnik old town are amazing, is you love to take some professional pictures this is the spot. I had lunch at te top was very romantic... I loved to see the blue Adriatic Sea while eating .... For a foreign person the restaurant isn’t that expensive , the only bad thing the toilet isn’t inside the restaurant in out and you have to wait a lot to wash your hands or etc.
It was good. Amazing views. More seats in the cable car would be an idea. My elderly father was left standing, mostly down to other people's manners. Had lunch at the top. Didn't get the best view but the steak sandwich was great.
The cable car is an easy way to get to a vantage point to view the old town of Dubrovnik. There are many people who have got tickets already before queuing for the cable car. The queue is actually for getting on the cable car - so if you don't have a ticket already, budge through and get a ticket from the ticket booth before joining the queue. While on the cable car, it is good to get to the window side facing the old town. Given that it was very full, I didn't get to the best position. But nonetheless, up at the top, it offered a good view. I don't think it is 5-stars because the cable car wire is in the middle of the view.
Would recommend going with the cable car. Excellent view from the top and one can have a drink or romantic meal at the restaurant there. Avoid the long queue by going at around 16:00 in the afternoon. Gets busy before sunset again.
