Cavtat (Croatian pronunciation: [t͡sǎʋtat], Italian: Ragusa Vecchia, lit. 'Old Ragusa') is a village in the Dubrovnik-Neretva County of Croatia. It is on the Adriatic Sea coast 15 kilometres (9 miles) south of Dubrovnik and is the centre of the Konavle municipality.
The original city was founded by the Greeks in the 6th century BC under the name of Epidaurus (or Epidauros, Greek: Ἐπίδαυρος). The surrounding area was inhabited by the Illyrians, who called the city Zaptal.

We have just come back from a two week stay at Villa Pattiera. Because we were staying for two weeks we decided to just go for bed and breakfast, thinking two weeks is a long time to eat in the same place. That being said we ate in lots of different places and found Villa Pattiera to be the best, we never had a bad meal there. All the staff were extremely kind and helpful and when I had I problem with my back and the chemist was closed they managed to get me some Ibuprofen tablets to save the day. It’s not often we go back to the same place because we like to go to different places, but we would be very tempted to go back there.
