Pittencrieff Park (known locally as "The Glen") is a public park in Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland. It was purchased in 1902 by Andrew Carnegie, and given to the people of Dunfermline in a ceremony the following year. Its lands include the historically significant and topologically rugged glen which interrupts the centre of Dunfermline and, accordingly, part of the intention of the purchase was to carry out civic development of the area in a way which also respected its heritage. The project notably attracted the attention of the urban planner and educationalist, Patrick Geddes.
The glen is an area of topographical and historical significance to Dunfermline as the original site of Malcolm's Tower, the probable remains of which can be identified today on a strongly defendable outcrop of rock. To the eastern side of the park is Dunfermline Palace with Dunfermline Abbey and to the west it overlooks the village of Crossford.
This is an amazing place to visit. Free too. I especially loved the cacti in the greenhouse as I live cacti. If you like open parks, manicured botanical gardens, wooded forests, peacocks and monkeys or (as I mentioned) cacti this is a great place to go. It has a great cafe too.

Pittencrieff Park, Dunfermline, a beautiful Park created by Andrew Carnegie, free to roam as he wished. Features a Museum, a Tropical Glasshouse, lots of play areas for children, a cafe and various statues to find and lots of cute squirrels to feed. Beautiful grounds to explore and is situated next to Dunfermline Abbey grounds.

Large park with open areas, playgrounds for kids as well as more secluded walks. Good for dog walking and exercising the kids. Make sure to check out the river walk down the bottom end of the park.

Beautiful park filled with places to stroll and relax. There are two big play parks catering to different age groups high with a good range of play equipment. There is a building in the middle of the park that houses a great area that teaches kids about the park history and wildlife with quizzes and colouring activities. They all sell cheap pocket money toys. There is also a nice cafe in the park selling tea, coffee, sandwiches, chips, ice creams and other simple lunch foods. The park is also host to many events throughout the year including one day festivals, comic cons, and fireworks night.

Great park to visit, museum, cafe, toilets forest walks, feed the squirrels, hot house, gardens and ample parking. Word of warning though don't park your car in the bus bay you will be booked. If no spaces available then drive down to the pavillion or use the streets around the park.

Great for dog walking. Lots of green space for throwing balls etc. Has a large cafe and the peacocks are still there but in an enclosure. Unsure if the museum is still open. Also has a playpark for the kids. A nice day out if sunny and nice for a picnic

In general this is a nice park, unfortunately my 5 year old son couldn't play in the play park because there was a huge dog climbing up the slide etc, chasing him. The owner of the dog told me that the park is for dogs and didn't remove his pet from the play area, so I just left. The man was rude and didn't have any common sense, shame on you!

Beautiful place for all the family. Lovely grounds with 2 really large play parks and stunning gardens. This is open free of charge 27/7. Can be busy on a gorgeous day but worth a visit.

This park is amazing. Very rare terrain for the park in the center of the city, there’s a steep valley and small river/spring. Part near Abbey looks to be old. Narrow hidden stone paths are totally beautiful. North part of park is leveled, much less trees and is a lot of kids attractions. Great winter garden. Nice view on bridges across the bay.

Good place to walk your dog as long as you follow the rules. Or just to walk on your own or with friends and family
