Ravana Falls (Sinhala: රාවණා ඇල්ල, romanized: Ravana Ella) is a popular sightseeing attraction in Sri Lanka. It currently ranks as one of the widest falls in the country.
This waterfall measures approximately 25 m (82 ft) in height and cascades from an oval-shaped concave rock outcrop. During the local wet season, the waterfall turns into what is said to resemble an areca flower with withering petals. But this is not the case in the dry season, where the flow of water reduces dramatically. The falls form part of the Ravana Ella Wildlife Sanctuary, and are located 6 km (3.7 mi) away from the local railway station at Ella.
Beautiful place, take a pic of the monkeys who are posing in front of the waterfall and it's nice to take a little bath in the rock pool on the right side. Only downside is it's very touristy but hey... That's how it goes with beautiful spots! ;) Secret tip: If you walk a few hundred meters to the right of the waterfall along the street (uphill) you will find another smaller, but also beautiful waterfall where no one is around.

A beautiful waterfall, really big, impressive and much better to see than in photos. It's very busy on the outside, a lot of people stop to take photos, including tour buses and cars. Not that many people walk over to it properly actually, and even fewer actually swim in is, so it is not bad and not 'full' of tourists.

Of course you will tell that this place of far to go. But it is so nice to be there. You would love it. You cannot see all the beauty of it with camera. You have to see it by your own. Natural beauty ... But if you are tourist, what else you want to do here?

We enjoyed our easy walk down to the falls from Ella. The road is quite busy but there is a lot to see. The falls are great fun. We went on a very busy Saturday. There were local people bathing and hair washing, tourists climbing on rocks and a general atmosphere of festivity. The falls are striking and quite impressive but the people are more interesting. It is easy to get a bus up the hill to Ella.

Beautiful falls, however full of tourists We went in the dry season and although the falls were lovely, apparently closer or during the wet season they are incredible. Easy to get to, the falls are actually very pleasant to walk to down the road from Ella. You just need to keep to the side and ensure that you’re aware of traffic and you can enjoy a very scenic route. The surrounds of the falls are a bit hectic and full of the typical Sri Lankan tourist shops/traps. Best just walk past, snap some photos on the bridge and explore around near the falls. Cheaper food, drink and merchandise can be had in central Ella.

Ravana falls has a historical importance in the story of Ravana. Lovely waterfalls, you can easily walk in and take some stunning pictures and enjoy the views! No entrance charge or anything like that. If you are driving past you can stop nearby and take pictures from over the bridge and enjoy the view without having to get wet! Luckily when we went it was crowded.

The falls was majestic in look. There was way in the right side of the falls you can go through that for few kilo meters there you can see one more falls. But still no one found the tip of the falls. But it was not that much safe to go through that way.

This is the starting point of the Rawana waterfall. Difficult to climb to mountain from the Ella side. Use other way to reach to this point. There's a walking path from Ella Rock side. Beautiful place. Nice for the photography. Recommended for young people. Good in sunny days. Night camping is not allowed.

Nice waterfall. You can go near to it. But police don't let you to go to water. Water speed is high. You can bathe in one place but not from waterfall but next to it. Better ask policeman before you enter to water. Nice clean water. But aftet rain it can be a little bit mud.

Awesome falls with good water and location. Bathing with the view of mountains is great and try the steamed corn after the bath. It's really great and can be in water as long as one can. The place is crowed in evening and best time to enjoy is in morning.

Nice place to visit. Stunning view can be seen here. This waterfall is a little bit dangerous to take a bath. And several people have hot injured by slippery rocks while climbing to the bathing area. Be cautious everyone and enjoy the view.
