There are a lot of good restaurants and interesting places around. However the gate itself is boring and the only thing you can do with it is take a picture. meh. We walked almost 1 hour looking for it because we thought it was more magnificent

Nice place in Fez. It is called the blue door. We walked through the medina which is a labyrinth and at the end we saw the place Bab Boujloud

this is the "main" gate to Fez Medina! and it's a great spot for your hotel! nearby you have ctm bus station and lots of coffee bar, restaurants, just everything! another important thing is.. you just need to say "blue gate" and every taxi driver knows it!

The entrance to the Medina for most visitors, so it's also the place where find most of the tourist-friendly restaurants in the old town. The gate is fairly new. Built by the french in the mid 20s after they destroyed the original one.

A real authentic morrocan experience inside the walls of Fes. Beware! it is a very busy area with many small streets where one can get lost very easily! Highly recommended to go both during the day AND during the evening- different atmospheres.

The best place ever where you can see Moroccan tradition

The main gate to the medina of Fes, a must seeing gate, made of green and blue tails. Small restaurants at the entrance, decide the prices before you order, they do traps and you can pay expansive some times. Shops of sweet Moroccan pastelary are around there, you have to test some, that is the occasion.

The structure is a triple-arched gate that makes use of Moorish architectural forms, with pointed horseshoe arches and a crenelated top. Both the inner and outer facades are covered in polychrome tiles featuring arabesques and Moroccan geometric motifs, with the outer facade predominantly blue and the interior facade predominantly green-ish.Strangely, the actual doors of the gate seem to close and lock from the outside; perhaps an indication that the French administration saw it partly as a means of controlling the movement of the inhabitants inside the medina. Beyond the gate, a small square ringed by shops and restaurants today gives access to both Tala'a Kebira and Tala'a Seghira, the main streets of the city leading towards the Qarawiyyin and the heart of the medina. The silhouettes of the minarets visible through the main arch when standing outside the gate are those of the Bou Inania Madrasaand a nearby mosque.

The gate itself is magnificent but everything else around it so out of sync. Too noisy and crowded. If the wind is right, you ll get some unforgettable memories from the nearby fish&meat market 😂

Good place. Of course this doesn't mean good people! Honestly, those illegal tour guides are so rude if you don't do what they want. Don't listen to them. Just know where to go and ignore them.

Entrance to the Medina, beaudtiful gates. Very busy and crowded once inside. Be prepared for tour offers and pushy sellers. Overall good experience with lots of variety and interesting things to see.

It was beautiful to look at but somewhat underwhelming given its reputation. I would still recommend you visit the gate nonetheless.

Interesting site to see. It is a main entrance to the Medina and winding streets of the market. There are some really good restaurants and places nearby.
