I took one of those Really-Fast trains from Rome to Florence to spend a single day to pay my respects to (IMHO) the greatest artist ever—Michelangelo. Saying my rosary directly in front of the humble sculpture’s remains was one of the highest spiritual points of my life—kissing Jesus’ ‘Crown of Thorns’ last April is the only thing that comes close. That, of course was in Paris’ Notre Dame Cathedral.

The church is one of the must see attractions of Florence. It is beautifully adorned with famous artwork.

This basilica is not to be missed. This is an excellent example of neo-gothic archeticture. The church is well decorated with art, statues and frescos. But the thing note to be missed at this basilica is the tombs all along the sides of the church. They include many famous people from Florence including Michaelangelo, Galelio and Macchiavelli to name a few.

The free guide to the Santa Croce monuments and pictures was amazing. A lot of amazing knowledge

A fantastic place. The queue maybe large depending on the time of visit but a must visit for all history and art lovers. You can see how the statue of Dante beside this basilica stands out.

Stunning! We went there at day and night time and it's so beautiful. We really loved it there!

Wonderful place to visit. We couldn't believe there was so few people there. As well as burial tombs of Michaelanglo, Galileo, Machiavelli and Rossini among others, there are also memorials to Dante who was exiled, and Marconi. Frescos by Giotto and a relief by Donatello. Take time here as there are chapels and cloisters to explore.

The spot where it located give you a good view of florance and it s also free entry so must visite , and remember don't took bus from near ponte vecchio because walking take less time😁

If you have to visit a cathedral in Florence, Santa Croce must be the chosen one as it os the tomb to some of the greatest characters in history.
Cesc Rosado Bisettimars 31, 2018
Definitely worth the entry price. It includes many chapels and gardens not to mention ornate tombs of some of the most important people from Florence. We spent 2 hours here and could have spent even more time in the gardens. 10/10 would recommend

Well worth 8euros. Part of it was having work done but there was a sign stating this before the ticket office. Loads of history and paintings going back 800 years looking immaculate. Not full of people and also really clean facilities.

Absolutely outstanding place and a must to visit in Florence. I couldn’t believe myself that the tombs of one of the greatest artists of all time Michelangelo and the leader of scientific Renaissance Galileo Galilei are actually here. If you have half a day in Florence, you have to visit this Basilica to pay homage to these great men.

We enjoyed our time. There was even an orchestral group practicing in public. They were good!

The Basilica di Santa Croce (Basilica of the Holy Cross) is the principal Franciscan church of Florence, Italy. Situated on the Piazza Santa Croce to the east of the Duomo, it is best known for its Florentine artwork and its tombs of illustrious great Italian figures, including Michelangelo, Galileo, Rossini, Marconi, Machiavelli and many others of great Italians.

A real highlight of our visit to Florence. No queues to speak of to gain admission for the low price of €8. As is common in most Italian churches your shoulders need to be covered to gain admission, this is a place of worship. Amazing architecture and a series of elaborate tombs that mark the last resting place of Italian cultural and scientific icons. People buried here include Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiaveli, and Rossini.

One of the must see landmarks in Florence. Like for any churches in Italy, it’s important to cover yourself (shoulders, legs...). Best to buy a fast pass on line before going there to avoid massive queues and waiting time; especially if you are only there for a few days.

One of many places in Florence to take a shot. Nice plaza and grand cathedral with a lot of beautiful architectural elements. Crown people here sometimes , beware your belonging all the time. Anyway it's worth to walk around, atmosphere and surroundings are lovely.

One of many beautiful pieces of architecture in Firenze. It also has a nice wide open plaza with benches, shops, restaurants, and merchant stands. I also needed a mobike and there were plenty here to get me back.
