Lovely place to spend sometime with the family, but for the biggest part of the tour we didn't see any animals at all and their spaces were vacant. Would be nice if we had been informed in advance about which animals we were actually going to view. Also, most signs and info labels were in German language, which I don't find very tourist friendly.

Fine Zoo. Lots of animals and kids Activities. Compared to Artis Amsterdam it sometimes looks s little worn and outdated. But you get value for money because parents pay just €10 entry fee and kids up to 5 are free. For some reason it is not yet possible to buy tickets online; please Germany innovate. It's about time... Don't let your guests go through the pain of an unnecessary line.

Great place with a lot of animals but unfortunately not so interesting to see in winter. They have special offers for kids, students etc. It is not expensive. There is also zoo shop where you can buy souvenirs with animals on them.

The zoo was easy to find, it was 10 euros to get in, the animals appeared to be well looked after, in conditions resembling their natural habitats, it would have been even better to see them in the wild though.

Very kid friendly, almost all accessible with buggy. Good mix of indoor and outdoor areas. Great waffles.

The diversity of animals is astounding. The animals are well cared for and that care shows down to even the patrons. The architectural setup is beyond anything I've seen before. The experience is extremely interactive. Seeing everything can take awhile if you stop to appreciate the animals and their homes.

Spent the day here and it was quite nice for the first zoo that I've been too ever. Weather was perfect. It seemed like it was sleepy day for all the animals though! Great time there.

Nice place for visit. Worth of money. I enjoyed my visit to the FF zoo. Well located in the city center.

This place seems to focus more on animal's convenience, than visitor's. You might spend several minutes before you spot an animal in its enclosure. And it feels right.

One of the must see places at Frankfurt. Plan to spend atleast 4-5 hours here. It is really big. You will have to walk a lot to cover this place but it is worth the walk. While you are over here don't forget to eat pommes with mayo at a small stall somewhere near the Chimp area..

I was there during the museum night. The zoo is very interesting. It is small and the collection is not very rare or spectacular, But it is still enough to watch the animals and have fun. I miss the giraffes or lions, couldnt visit them during the evening. Would be nice to go again.

It's a relatively small zoo but it's also beautiful and has a good variety of animal. Not a big selection of food choices but your casual wurst, nuggets and potatoe pancakes. There's also a few stands for coffee and ice cream. A large playground for the kids. It's definitely a nice day out. Especially for an adult entrance fee of 10€

This place seems to focus more on animal's convenience, than visitor's. You might spend several minutes before you spot an animal in its enclosure. And it feels right. And it looks like there are two kinds of inhabitants there: ones that are held there and ones that just happen to live in the same place, as I clearly saw couple of storks wandering around one of ponds for couple of minutes, and just flying away to mind their own business. Only one issue, though - the railing for flamingo enclosure should be much higher to keep idiots from stepping into to take selfies with poor birds.

Too crowded. The cashiers were not enough though. We had to wait too long and people kept on coming and waiting. Many interesting animals and the personal are good at their job. Too bad that the zoo is small.

Visit date 6th May 2018: The first thing I would say is arrive early. I arrived shortly after opening and got straight in. By the time I left, the queue was massive. Zoo Frankfurt is not a massive zoo but you can tell that their first concern is welfare of the animals. It may take a bit of patience before you see the tigers as they have a large enclosure with plenty of cover. It's definitely worth the wait though! There is plenty to see and a fairly simple route to follow on the supplies map to make sure you get to see everything. There's a play area for children and places dotted around for refreshments. Part of the big cat area was closed when I visited as a lioness has just given birth but there was a screen up showing video of them. There is a nice little walk through aviary with a number off bee-eaters in one section. Would definitely recommend if you have children. Entry fees are very reasonable. There is also a nice gift shop located near the exit.

Best Zoo I have ever been. Clean. Quiet. And most important is they take good care of animals. Animals are clean, healthy and have a lot of place for their needs. Lions and tigers are main attraction.Zoo also have lots of reptiles, fishes and monkeys. Roads are very well organized and you cant miss anything. Excellent place to spend 3 hours.

We were there for Museum night. Attention was speedy despite the amount of people. The zoo is in construction and I guess because of the time some areas were restricted. Nonetheless there was enough information and we managed to see quiet a bit. It was a fun!

I like to visit zoos and collect memories about them, so have great experience about many many places. Frankfurt zoo is my second the best after Finnish in Helsinki. I like how Frankfurt zoo is organized, also variety of animals and their living conditions. If you have children or you are child in your heart, visit and enjoy!

Quite nice zoo in Frankfurt. I visited it for half a day, and it was enough to see all animals there. Easy to reach via metro, so there is no need to drive car there. At the time of my visit zoo was undergoing some repairs and renovations, so now you might encounter even more interesting things there.

What a wonderful place! You can wander around the whole day and never get bored. Animals here are treated very well, with larger ones enjoying great space. I thought that the main attraction would be the Indian lion or the Sumatra tiger, but as you go further you discover alot of species that are uncommon for normal Zoo's. Considering the fact that the Zoo is located near the city center, surrounded by housing blocks, everything is organized very well. Personally I enjoyed the most, seeing a Black African rhinoceros and a lot of rare and special monkey species. Very nice place indeed, I would visit it every other week if I would have lived in the beautiful city of Frankfurt.

Just OK. There's nothing decent to eat and not a single water fountain in the whole zoo, which I find preposterous. Some of the animals are impressive and/or very cute, of course, but one feels sorry for them having way too little space for their needs, almost without exception. Also, I wanted to go to a nearby restaurant with my children in order to have a proper meal and come back later, but they informed me that we would only be allowed to leave the premises for 20 minutes or our tickets would be invalidated, which seems absurd!

Summary: if you stay in Frankfurt with young children, it is good to visit. If you are driving, choose another zoo in another city. In the last year I visited 6 zoos in 4 countries, all of them were better than this one. In details: It's a missed opportunity. Good area, they have the basic animals you expect in a zoo, but they did not think this through. For example the little cart that you can rent to carry children around is very heavy, comfortably only seats 1 child although it looks much bigger. And to access many places you need to climb stairs, which means you need to leave your cart behind. There are good spaces for the animals, but there are no raised viewing platforms around, so often all you see is some movement far away. You try to show a lion, a tiger, a bear to a 3 year old and they have no clue where to look because obviously there are only some bushes or trees there. Bring cash. Card payment is not possible. And the nearest ATM is about 5 minutes walk away. You will need cash for entrance fee, cart rental, ice cream, cold drinks. Card payment works in the souvenir shop. The map is very basic (and only in German), so it's difficult to plan which way you want to go. The signs are not really helpful so expect some missed turns.

Great Variety of wildlife animals. There are also houses for Fish, aquatic reptiles, land reptiles and aviaries. If I am to give one advice, is to not go to the Zoo on a hot day, as most of the outdoors animals will be sleeping somewhere with a shade, which coincidentally is far from sight, so you don't get the chance of seeing certain animals like the Tiger and the Lion upclose or at all. Of course bring water with you because there is a lot of walking involved. But if you forgot, you can always grab a seat in one of the many outdoors cafes and grab an ice coffee, or if you're on a vacation maybe a beer at 1 pm, don't worry they won't judge.

It's on the small side and people who are sensitive about animals in smaller enclosures should be aware. But there are an impressive variety of animals here and everyone I go, there is a different feeding show which is very interesting. There is a nice kid's park in the middle and of you have young kids, the annual pass is such good value for €60!

If you’re a tourist don’t make this a high in your priority list. If you’re a local, yes definitely bring the kids here. It’s a small zoo, one of the smallest we’ve seen across the world. We went during what would be considered a very hot day and hardly saw any of the animals. They have a playground and overall our kids enjoyed it.
