Great place to bring the kids and the whole family. So many things to do and see. We got on the boat and we had so much fun. We went to all the pyramids and the kids learned many new things and our favorite pyramid was the aquarium. We have the membership and it is so worth it. We can go to Palm Beach and the pyramids and also get some discounts when shopping in the gift shops. Highly recommend this place for everyone.
My family and I went to the aquarium. I thought it would be really cool to go in the triangle and see all the fish. It was a nice experience. Though I had to compete with the multiple large groups of visiting children to see anything up close. It's expensive for how many fish are actually there but, it's kinda expected. I recommend buying tickets online. One worked was rude and yelling at everyone. Then another working with the jellyfish was just making up facts. It really annoyed me because, he was yelling it everywhere like he was a genius. It's okay to have staff with little knowledge on the fish but, it's wrong to make facts up. A quick Google search is better than listening to some of the workers.
If you take advantage of a 2 day pass and make sure you see all you can, it's really a pretty good value. The exhibits are first class. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It's expensive (at least for us it was) but we saw almost everything. The kids especially loved Palm beach. Great family activity.
Moody Gardens is awesome! There are so many things to see and the interactions with the employees have been pleasant. MG also offers opportunities for visitors to experience "being the scenes" dealings with some of the animals. Separate tickets are required to go "behind the scenes." As long as all the visitors respect the facility and the animals, MG will continue to be a staple in the South Texas area. Thank you MG for offering such a variety of creatures for us to view as well as the 3d/4d experiences.
My wife and I went there on my birthday several years ago. Very interesting place and we also saw the Body Works exhibit which was quite informative. We enjoyed seeing the Emperor penguins and was amazed at how well they swim! Lots of neat exhibits there!
Moody Gardens is a great place to go. The atrium area is great. Great movies for the everyone. But it is very, very expensive. $60 a person for something that you can get through in half a day or less. If you visit Galveston regularly, the annual pass is great (not quite twice as much as a one day pass), and you get to go as many times as you like, including special exhibits.
Really great place, it was fast moving and I didn't have to wait in long lines when I went. It is a little overpriced in my opinion BUT it was great to go and experience it whilst I was in Galveston. Make sure you plan ahead and maybe think about doing it how we did it. We ordered our tickets online ahead so we didn't have to wait in long lines and in the heat. It's a great place for a morning or afternoon out with your family or maybe a fun date.
Love, love love Palm Beach. It is perfect for families with young children. Our 3 year old loves the wave pool; she's putting those swim lessons to work. I wouldn't bring my late elementary or older young person. Definitely not that much for them to do. Also the inexpensive quick bites are great for your pocket. Personal pizza, chips and drink for 10 bucks. Mondays are the best as they are not that crowded. Enjoy
We had so much fun here I was a little worried because some reviews I read said it wasn’t worth it to buy ticket. It was so worth it we spent about six hours here you can do the boat ride watch 3D and 4d movies some which are short others which are long. They have a rain forest pyramid and and aquarium pyramid. I enjoyed every bit of our visit. We purchased the one day value pass which lets you do just about everything. Next time I will go later in the year so the kids can play at the water area. My only complaint was there were several schools there and the teachers were not watching the kids and they were horrible and did not mind one group almost got kicked of the boat ride but all in all it was fun
We took our children to the aquarium pyramid. It was beautiful. The kids had the chance to touch a jelly fish, a sting ray, and a star fish. We had an amazing day. I will say that if you are going to Moody Gardens it's probably better to buy the all inclusive ticket for all 3 pyramids. We paid almost the same to enter just the one. Moody Gardens is a definite must for tourists and Houstonians alike it is a beautiful place and we will be visiting again.
We visited the aquarium pyramid and loved it. Most of the tanks are huge, stretching over two stories. There are several viewing areas for each of the large displays so you can avoid the crowds. There are also a couple of tunnels where the sealife is all around you. The "touch tanks" are very popular. One of the best aquariums that I'M been to.
Honest review It is a very fun and entertaining place to come whether you have kids or not. The entire family will enjoy it. I recommend planning a trip here by saving for the value pass to all exhibits. I would suggest being aware of what events are happened at different times so you don't miss out. The 3D, 4D, and spongebob kids adventure all start at different times throughout the day so plan your day out before you come so you won't be everywhere. It is probably better to come when it opens which is at 10am just so that you have time to do everything. I arrived at 120 my first time here and didn't get to do all that I wanted when it closed which is at 6pm. So please come early so you get time, overall this place is extremely fun for family and kids, and I would hope many of you reading this go one day and see for yourself. Stay posted with all the activities going on throughout the day in the exhibits for example penguin feeding, you'll be entertained and learn something new. If you come during the week, you'll more than likely notice not many people show up, our family came three times in the middle of the week and never had to worry about it being overcrowded. Really not sure what the weekends are like. All in all I recommend this to all families wanting to spend some fun entertaining time with each other.
The different things we got to do and see in Moody Gardens was well worth the money. Kids would have an even better time here but myself the learning experience was out of this world! Yes is is not the cheapest thing we have done but it was definitely on the top 10 of our favorite! Highly recommended!!
The aquarium was clean, well thought out, and very fun. My kids enjoyed the seals and sea lions the most. They were very active the day we were there. We saw the 4D shark movie and it was fun, but terrified my 4 year old. The only problem I had was the snack bar wouldn't allow me to buy a bottle of unrefrigerated water for my baby's bottle.
It's great for what it is. The exhibits are really nice! The rainforest and aquarium my kids enjoyed it a lot. Fast service even though it was packed. The restaurant has really good food and it's a buffet. We enjoyed it a lot. The 4d theatres are fun for the kids as well. The upgrades are really nice here.
Went during Christmas time although the lines where long for some attractions it was worth it the kids really enjoyed it. Try the 4D movie at the time it was SpongeBob it was really fun my daughter had the honor of being a button pusher which made it funnier. But even if she hadn't this attraction is a can't miss. I would do this twice that's just how much fun it was
The hotel rooms are nice, but some rooms tend to feel unfinished. For example, my suite had a small hole in the wall where I thought a smoke alarm might need to be showing partially exposed wiring. The beds are comfy and spacious, a well-lit vanity area is convenient for getting ready, and overall is a nice place to stay. As far as the conference center goes, it’s pretty nice but they could definitely do some upkeep like greasing the doors with WD40 to reduce squeakiness and throwing out or repairing some of the chairs that are pretty significantly damaged.
We did the Rain Forest and Aquarium. Beautiful exhibits- informative staff- could easily spend 5 hours to do both. Try to time with some feeding times such as the Penguin feeding. Plenty of free parking. We did not eat or stay there so no comment on that part but hotel is right across the parking lot
The lobby and room exceeded my expectations. Everything was in good repair and clean. The room was rather spacious. We only stayed for one night because we were heading out on a cruise. Our issues occurred at check-in. We had reserved a room with two beds at least four months in advance as we were traveling with our children. We were told there were no rooms with two beds left. We are also told there was no shuttle to the cruise ship terminal. After much finagling we were finally given a room with two beds. We talk to the manager in the morning and found that the hotel does have a shuttle runs in the morning to the cruise terminals. I don't understand how someone can work at the front desk and I know that. People working in the morning were much more knowledgeable and extremely friendly There is a Starbucks in the lobby but it is not a full-service Starbucks. I was not a big deal because we were only there for one morning.
Lots of exhibits and plenty of resting spots. Very entertaining for kids and relaxing for adults. Very clean. Staff were helpful. We liked the boat trip. Food options are not very good. Food is not fresh and not nutritious. Moody gardens management needs to stop looking at food sales at the park as a business and provide better options.
We went on a chilly day for something to do. We had a great time learning about the rain forest. Many birds and creatures to see. Very educational too. Then on to the aquarium. We enjoyed the sea lion a lot. Also an area where you can touch rays and other creatures. The penguins were a lot of fun too. The last thing was riding on the old paddle wheel boat.
Are you looking for a local resort type get away ? This is the one for the whole family. The hotel was wonderful. Total of five of us, parents and three children. We booked two rooms. One king size and the two double. Very nice and spacious, private, quiet. Room service was great. Plenty of parking that was close to the front door of the lobby. The restaurant had enough variety for the whole family to choose from. Breakfast had a buffet or a-la-cart. The attractions ; three Pyramids with different environments in them from Rain Forrest and Aquatic life and 3D/4D theaters. All were informative and creatively entertaining. Outside is a beach and water park. Then there is the rope obstacle with Zip Line. Now that will get the blood flow going. The whole family loved our weekend stay. I highly recommend this place for a visit.
