Iconic Geneva feature. First saw the fountain in the tv spy series “The Champions” back in the late 60s. It is impressive and you can walk up to the base. The view is also good from the water taxis that crisscross the lake. Would have been 5 stars but we only saw it on once for a short period of time in the 3 days we were visiting in February 2018.

A trademark of Geneva, this place is worth a visit when the fountain is on. The jet fountain rises so high it can be seen from the airplanes too just before landing. Boat rides near the lake take you near the fountain to experience and amazing view of this man made beauty.

A cannon shooting water at 125mph with great views of the lake, city, and mountains. Don't forget to visit and admire this beautiful Swiss landscape.

Landmark & the largest fountain of Geneva. The night view is Awesome. Jet d'Eau is one of the tallest fountain in the world. ... Soon after being finished, the fountain became the symbol of strength, ambition and vitality of Geneva and Switzerland. Its strong engines pump 500 liters of water per second to the height of 140 meters

Very clean and easy to reach the way fountain. The bridge has been re-made. It is less narrower and safer. Definitely worth the fun. Best in the summer as the water is sprinkled by the wind. Can be seen from the plane and from the mountain Salève. Great for kids and families who want ice cream and toilets nearby.

The fountain rises high majestically to height of, say, more than 60 metres I guess. You can choose to get drenched or watch it safely from a distance as I did. A must do item at Geneva. It is about 1.5 km of pleasant walk from Cornivan main train station.

Probably the most recognisable fountain (water jet) in the world, in the lake of Geneva. Wonderful, huge lake on a glorious day with the ferries operating up and down, a sight to behold. We walked from the opposite side of the fountain all the way around the lake edge, Geneva is very picturesque I remember watching the Champions as a kid and inspired by the opening scenes of this enormous spray, now here, living it. GREAT!!!

Geneva water fountain, also called Jet d'Eau (meaning 'water jet'), is located near the city center. This is the best tourist attraction in Geneva. With an interesting historical influence the fountain was originally installed in 1886 to pump lake water. Iconic representation of Swiss people towards cleanliness and environmental protection. And of course, a great place for selfie.

This fountain is really amazing, huge and tall. No wonder if we can consider it as a symbol of Geneva city. Absolutely a must see when you visit Geneva. When you are lucky with the weather you can enjoy beautiful view of Geneva lake including this wonderful fountain.

This water fountain is really awesome. You must visit this place when you are in Geneva. And you should come closer to the water jet. Be careful that it could be slippery if the wooden platform is wet, so wear appropriate shoes. The wind sometimes change its direction, so when you think that you stand on the safe point, you might be wrong. Better to come with waterproof camera or smartphone, or just bring plastic or waterproof bag to cover your electronics when you passing through the water curtain below the jet stream.

Geneva's most iconic landmark - the jet is easily visible and is often lit with various colours. The water reaches a height of about 130m. Be careful of getting to close - sudden changes in wind direction are a great way to have an unexpected shower!

Really nice and a must do if you visit Geneve! It is 140 m high and you can see it from nearly every place as long as there are no buildings in your sight 😀. It is free to visit and you can go there any time. You might get wet if go go too close and the wind is blowing in your direction, but that isn't bad on a hot summer day!

This is a rather impressive water fountain. We were able to get close enough to allow the mist cool us off on a warm day in Geneva. The wind direction did change while we were there and the spray from the fountain ended up drenching other visitors who got closer than we did.

One of the things to tick off the list when in Geneva. Especially summer time. If you've little children (5+) they may fancy walking through the spray as the wind shifts it's direction across the pier. You've got to be mindful of the wet surface though.
