On the first level there is a very informative overview of the history of Geneva that cleverly pairs a video on a normal screen with a projected map onto a topographic (3D) model of the region. As the video tells you about different periods in Geneva's history, the projected city map evolves as well. It made the information very understandable and memorable. At the top floor there is an amazing model of the city in 1800's.

As for one of the main attractions in Geneva it's pretty boring and not diverse. One star only for the visualization of the Geneva's terrains during all the epochs which was presented downstairs on the ground floor.

A must see if you are in the area. We had a blast here. The paid exhibit in the basement was well worth the price, if you have the time I highly recommend taking a look. Staff here was awesome!

A small local museum. It is free and it has free WiFi as well. Perhaps 3d models with video overlays depicting Geneva evolution over time are the highlights of the place, another interesting piece is the collection of doors and shutters from a few centuries ago

A good place to get a glimpse of what kind of life Genevoises used to lead presented through some interior and exterior objects. There is a wonderful collection of locks and keys, even a secret one. The front doors of the houses on display demonstrate variety of stories of the home owners. One can also see sample of furniture and fireplaces typical to the Old Town houses as well as cooking utensils. On the upper floor, in the attic of the Maison Tavel a model of Geneva city is presented as it was in the late 19th century. All in all the museum is a good historical reference, though it would be helpful if the labels were also in English as at present they are only in French.

Great (and exceptional to Geneva - free) place to get to know the history of Geneva. At minimum I recommend viewing the 3D landscape movie on the ground floor and the miniature city on the top floor.
