Captivating views of this island in Indonesia. Smallest of Beaches, on the island, for walking. Smallest of Gili (Meno) available for visitors to view them on this island. Well maintained and adequately protected from destruction. Amazing views on this island. Nice cottages and meals for visitors to enjoy.
Smallest of the Gilis, for relaxing on the beach, snorkeling & walking. Nice sunsets. Great for budget travelers Bungelow w. Aircon around 140k (10$ USD), Avg Meal 40k, Small Bintangs 30k (Happy Hour 25k). A lot of the beachside restaurants have tourist prices, go through the island and find smaller Warungs often populated with backpackers. We reccomend Warung Buati (PAC Man Warung) or its neighbouring restaurant. Island hopping ferries leave for Gili T at 8:50, and Gili Air 9:50. Be prepared for a few power outages which only last a few hours, and yes all the Gilis have regular ‘loud’ (not too loud for us) prayer sessions over the mosque speaker - don’t complain about it, the people of the Gilis are not going to change their religion to suit tourists... it’s a non issue, get over it.
Tropical paradise. Relaxed. We liked it here much more than on Gili Air. Especially as the latest government actions have led to much less destruction on Meno. The swimming beach on south east coast is just beautiful. Nice sand to walk into the blue ocean. We saw two turtles just by snorkeling from the beach on north east (didn't book a boat, was no problem to reach the spots by foot and swim) Good place to stay: Gili Meno Eden. Good place to eat: pojok no 5 star. Enjoy, it's great!
Had a quick stop here. Amazing Sunrise overlooking the Rinjani Mountain in Lombok but sunset is covered by Trawangan island. Still, the magenta sky at Sunset was beautiful. Amazing snorkeling, easily spotted 3 sea turtles at turtle point, saw the sunken statue and some beautiful coral reef. Quite shallow water at Turtle point, good for those just starting to snorkel. Activities include bicycle around the island, jog /run, no cars/bike but horse-pulled cart is available (Cidomo they call it). There are 2 supermarket. A great place to escape and relax/chill.
While it is a beautiful island and nice to visit if you're in the area, it's certainly a let down if you're traveling from afar just to get to the Gilis. Perhaps we were reading too much about the Gilis which then set our expectations higher. We went in Feb, which is considered the slow season and it was still very touristy. Stayed in Lombok for a week and did an overnight trip to Gili Meno. The beach on east side of the island is 100% better with soft sand. We opted to stay on the west side of the island because we wanted a sunset view and read that the southwest side of the island has better waters. That is completely wrong. There really isn't much 'beach' on the west side, rather, the coast line is mostly a graveyard of dead coral. Painful to walk on without sandals.
Wonderful and magical island where time seems at a stand still. Gazing at the birds, admiring in silence the huge lizards, going snorkeling with turtles, horse ridding around the island, photo shoot of the sunset, talking to the welcoming and charming islanders or farniente is just a small list of what the island has to offer... Welcome to the quiet side...
I love all the Gilis and Lombok but Gili Meno is my favorite! So tranquil and laid back. We stayed at Hotel Villa Bagus which is on the south/west side of the island. I can really recommend it! Looking forward to go back in mars! Peace ✌️
First I've been to Gili T which is the most popular one for partying and meeting new people. Gili Meno instead has even more beautiful beaches. They are more clean and it looks more like paradise. It's calm and they have awesome places to eat :)I loved it so much!!! It's a must visit.
