What a fantastic place. Plenty to see here and lots of activities year round. It really is so well used and great for meeting up and seeing the beautiful City center from. Glasgow Queen Street train station leads out to George Square too so if you are travelling from Edinburgh you are met with a lovely space and not too far to walk across to central either. It's Christmas time at the writing of this review and the decorations and stalls this year are perfect. Have a wonder round at night and see the lights.

Glasgow has the same metropolitan feel as Manchester or London but with that fantastic Scottish charm. The city has undergone some serious regeneration, restaurants and lots of upper and middle market shops make it a fantastic place for a city weekend break. My wife and I came to Glasgow for a professional exam but are planning a return trip for a city break. Great first impression!

A must see place in Glasgow city centre. Meet the famous Scots. Delve in the history. Chat up a Glaswegian, one helluva friendly people. Or just rest your feet at one of the many benches after your shopping stroll. It's even better during Christmas. People Make Glasgow!

Just off Queen Street train station this place is full of history and architecture. At Christmas there is a fabulous market with German food outlets, beer hut and various rides including a huge ferris wheel which give fabulous views. Plenty restaurants and pubs around! Also a few lovely hotels overlooking the Square itself!

Medium sized city square located right in the centre of Glasgow and a five minute walk from Glasgow Central Station, a 1 minute walk from Glasgow Queen Street Station and 10 minute walk from Buchanan Bus Station (Drop off point for Megabuss). There is plenty of benches and grass for kids to play on, it is also home to multiple monuments and statues and it is a 1 minute walk to the iconic Duke of Wellington Statue (The one with the cone on its head). During the festive season a large outdoor market/carnival is set from mid November to mid January, during this time there is lots of festive lights and decorations up a few basic rides and a lot of amazing food stalls. The only downside is that during the summer and festive seasons it can get extremely crowded with tourists and tour guides/operators.

George Square represents one of the key meeting places in Glasgow and it utilised all year round for activities and events. The numerous benches and present surroundings make it a great place to enjoy the rare sunny days sitting watching the busy city go by. Located next to Queen Street train station it is a great place to meet people travelling from Edinburgh. The highlight of the year is just prior to Christmas when the Christmas Market comes to Glasgow! The way the square it decorated and the stores make it a magical place to spend an evening after work.

It's a square. Not in Russia or India where they have cool building but in the heart of industrial Glasgow. Seriously. How do I review a square with cars driving around it? There's some corners. Not the best corners but about 90°

A very lovely mix of formal importance and chilled enjoyment of the sun on a nice day. As a native i like to relax on a rare sunny day, I like to watch the tourists be delighted to be here and take pictures of themselves with the statues. Rather embarrassingly, I have never properly looked at the fabulous statues (with the exception of the war memorials) i just enjoy sitting and people watching and reminiscing about feeding the pigeons cornflakes with my granddad 😊

This is the heart of Glasgow city which is such a beautiful place to be around. I was there during November and in during the day time the park was busy, I can only imagine in the summer time how nice it would be. The atmosphere is great with lots of tourists visiting. There are tour busses operating from there which goes right around the city's main attractions. Since you're right in the middle of the city, all the shops are a walk away; which is great.

This is right in the centre of the town. A lot of tourists and locals frequent this area. Also a well know area for meeting up with friends and family before heading off. Most people come here to "people watch" and some come for just a peace of mind. Very beautiful area as surrounded by very historical statues, the buildings around George Square really commends the historical statues.

I love George Square, one of my favourite places to relax in Glasgow's city centre. Its awesome to see the birds flying around with tourists taking pictures of the beautiful monuments. Be sure to put this place on top of your list most especially when visiting Glasgow. Pro Tip: You can get free WIFI from some open networks around so you always know where to go when you run out of data :-)

A lovely and lively place in the heart of Glasgow city. On one end is city council buidling, with beautiful mesmerizing architecture. On each end there is sculpture of a famous personality. There is war memorial in front of city council building. At walking distance from Central rail station. Guided walking tours daily start from here. It is worth while to join one. Discover Scotland tour also start from here.

This is a great meeting place to start a tour of the city. Lots of buses service the square so it's easy to get to and from. Round the square there is many places to eat or grab a sandwich and sit on one of the many benches watching the world go by.

Viewing the statues and war monument is great. It would be better with a biography on the statues. Looking at the architecture of the old buildings is a marvel although at the moment they're demolishing part of Queen Street station to upgrade and I think put in trams. It's amazing that there were trams in most of Glasgow and Edinburgh. They got rid of them and the lines and they're putting them back on again.

Amazing spot in the heart of Glasgow City Centre. Great on a sunny day to chill out or to get a photo of the City Chambers. Still gutted they replaced the iconic red paving with Grey!

Great atmosphere in Glasgow. Lots of busker lots of people enjoying hospitality smiles everywhere sun shining although we did have a shower nothing that put frowns on people’s faces. Plenty of people to help set you off as roads closed only for cyclists.

Central location in the original city. Statuary is placed around the perimeter representing important historic figures. King George, after whom the park is named is not represented in the statuary due to his apparent madness. Good place to catch a tour, taxi or bus. Short stop to train and bus stations.
