A stunning piece of old Glasgow. I have passed this building almost daily for the best part of 12 years and only recently decided to check it out. Truely stunning inside and steeped in history. The stained glass windows are breathtaking and i was lucky enough to have a nice bit of winter sun showing them off. The downstairs chapel is lovely and feels truely old. It is also the burial place of st mungo which adds a nice bit of Glasgow history to the visit. It is still a functioning church so there are prayer times throughout the day. You also have the necropolis a stones throw away.

Very pretty. No restroom inside. You have to go across the courtyard to use the one in St. Mungo's Museum, which is a cool bonus stop.

Nice cathedral with nice pipe organs and choral. Nice stained glass windows and arches. Also it is worth to visit the lower cathedral. The cathedral is opened to visit all places at 1PM to 5PM. Lovely people there make the pleasure to see it and talk about cathedral. One important think, remove the cap, hat from your head for the respect for the church community.

Really beautiful and interesting, but I wish there was a better self guided tour. The little leaflet wasn’t super helpful, especially because it didn’t have a diagram of the cathedral. Also part of it is under construction. Overall, St. Giles in Edinburgh is much better.

Absolutely beautiful cathedral, a sight from inside and out. We caught a choir practice as well, which added a spiritual ambience even further. If you visit, be sure to walk to the nearby necropolis.

Very 'real' Gothic atmosphere, nothing like the over decorated baroque churches. It feels like Robin Hood (or his Scottish counterpart) can burst in any time. Don't forget to visit the Necropolis too.

A really great building and so calming. It's worth walking over the bridge to the Necropolis to get a great view of the cathedral.

Great place to experience the old Glasgow. Free admission, very clean and lots of interesting things to read and look at.Very friendly informative staff. Toilets and café located in museum. Well worth a visit, open 7 days and pretty unrestricted access. Still a functioning church and Sunday mornings until 12.30ish church service held. Visitors very welcome to attend or wait in the very spacious main foyer.

Impressive historical building. Especially inside! We went also to the Necropolis Cemetery next. In conjunction with dull weather the scene looks like a thriller movie.

Truly wonderful, atmospheric cathedral in a lovely location. Also known as the High Kirk of Glasgow, St Kentigern's or St Mungo's Cathedral. Apparently an episode of the (excellent) ‘Outlander’ TV series was part recorded here. All in all a marvellous, touching experience to visit the cathedral. Full of amazing sights (the stained glass windows are astounding) and staggering beauty. Free to get in but donations are welcome.

The big and dark (specially at dull winter days) medieval cathedral. This oldest Glasgow cathedral is perfect example of Scottish Gothic architecture. It's worth to see it (and it's free)...

I was delighted with the majestic construction of the cathedral with green and black tones but the same absurd is to observe the cathedral by the top of the cemetery. A unique view of the city, of respect and full of history. You can read in each campaign the history of the people and what important they contributed to the country 😃

Stunning cathedral dating to the middle ages. Windows are beautiful, but date from late 19th century to present. Tour guides are great. They delight in sharing their treasure with you.

Gorgeous cathedral. You may walk in. No charge. Stain glass windows are very beautiful.

After seeing Necropolis, we went to see Glasgow Cathedral. Must visit for it's old Scottish Gothic built. Photos do no justice to the place. I've never seen such big and beautifully intricate stain glass windows! It's free of charge. 🙂

Attended choral evensong on a Sunday afternoon. Choir is the equal of an Anglican choir as it has fine women's voices. Medieval architecture in the ancient city of Glasgow.

Really neat on the inside. Make sure to go down into the lower level to observe the cool ceilings. Kinda eerie but neat!

The Glasgow Cathedral is worth the visit. It is a beautiful cathedral; many interesting details and there is also a crypt. On the time of my visit there was a Lego exhibition and it was a nice surprise. There are interesting museums and a necropolis next to the cathedral.

Nice cathedral to visit in Glasgow. Opening times vary depending on time of year (see photo), but admission is free, so well worth seeing. There is a lower level which had a strange Lego type exhibition setup. That seemed very out of place and can only imagine was to help raise funds from a 'corporate' perspective.

Great cathedral with some stunning windows. The staff are very welcoming and approachable with amazing knowledge of the buildings. Although there were lots of visitors the atmosphere was still peaceful and worshipful.

A must see place while you're in Glasgow. Very nice cathedral with a medieval history. The stained glass widows are great, the cathedral also hosts a 400 year old bible(as of 2017) King James VI printed in 1617. You are allowed to take photos in the public areas. Opening hours vary depending on the season. There is a lower level with various displays made of Legos.
