I often come here with a disabled person who loves it. There's lots to see. Most things are easily accessible. There's a lift with lots of room and good sized disabled toilets. There's quite a few disabled parking spaces. There's lots of places to sit down and have a snack and there's also two eating places. I also come here with my own family. Great place for kids and adults of all ages.

Fabulous experience for adults and especially for children. Lots to do and brilliant displays for children to interact with and learn. They can pretend to drive real buses taxis and tube trains, climb on board various old trams and buses. Kids under 7 will love the play areas. There is a small cafe that does sandwiches and teas and coffees.

Kids love this place. I don't understand why. Think they missed a chance to have a modern museum. There were things to climb on a walk through when I visited as a child. There is very little interactive items. It's mostly to look at. But I say again. The kids love it.

Absolutely spectacular history. A lot of fun and relaxing to walk around. Recommend for friends and family. Original old, horse carts, farming machines, cars, trains, ship models, trams, horse saddles, old cameras, old bikes. Old fair ground rides, old toys. Good friendly staff.

Excellent place for kids. Loads of vehicles to explore and climb on. There is a replica of an old street where you can explore the old shops and you can visit an old subway station. The quality of the vehicles on display are outstanding. You can also visit the tall ship at the back of the museum which is great fun for the kids.

My wife, kids and I visited here and spent several hours just walking around seeing all the old methods of Transport. My eldest daughter loved it, was great for her to see all the old trams and buses. She especially loved going onto the Tall Ship outside. This was a great experience for her. We would have been more than happy to pay into this Museum, but it was completely free, it certainly would be complete value for money if there was a charge. We'll definitely return back here as we all had so much fun.

This is an excellent free museum in Glasgow, right by the river Clyde. There are a huge number of exhibits and activities for kids of all ages. Make sure you don't miss the Tall Ship at the rear, I didn't realise this was also free and it is amazing, far bigger than I expected inside. This museum is well suited for kids and groups. There is something for everyone. My only complaint would be that it is quite a trek to the toilets from some parts, more facilities would be helpful.

Excellent place to visit for a day out. Free, well maintained and hundreds of exhibits to keep a person interested in engineering/transport history busy for hours. The classic street is also worth the visit on its own. Decent parking. Highly recommended.

Suggestion to bring own pack lunch as tables and chairs tucked in and about museum you can eat at. Parking £1 for hours. Or you can get bus from George's square. Open top Glasgow tour bus stops regularly outside museum too .

Smashing place to take the kids our toddler was running on and off the transport all day thought it was absolutely fantastic. Excellent to see all the old style of streets and clothes of the 40s+ - the tallship was the bit the loved the most. The kids took part in the scuba mask making session and that was also free. We'll stocked gift shop for the kiddies spending money. Brilliant day out for all the family

This is a great place. Really modern, clean and informative. Great for all ages and families. There is even a picnic area indoors, so bring your own snacks if your like. Please leave a donation, as it is worth it. There is a massive south African steam engine, underground subways, cars from earliest eras to modern ones, bicycles, teams and even a ship outside. The museum even had a whole street made to look like the early 1900s set with shops, pubs, sights and sounds from the era.

A very imaginative museum containing well preserved examples of Glasgow transport through the ages buses and trams. Large displays of cars, motor cycles and commercial vehicles from times past. A very realistic underground tube train display and a brilliant street scene with period shops and vehicles. Large pay and display car park. Lots to see and do, ideal for children. Needed more time to fully explore. Let down a bit by the cafe.

Great day out and to find out more of Scottish history. Has a good Cafe but has seating so you can take packed lunch. Young children do seem to get board easy but there are some interactive machines around. I have been twice in the past year and plan to go back soon. It's great place to go on a dull day.

Great museum. Really worth a visit if you are in Glasgow. The museum itself has lots in it despite the bands but sounding that interesting. It is pretty crowded and does tend to be pretty busy. There is audio the big so which is really with a visit. The only thing to bare in mind is they close before the museum itself so if you are visiting later in the day it is worth going there first.

Took my little girl and my niece for "a little walk" around the museum and Tall Ship... next thing we know its 16:45 and we had been there for over 2 hours! Love the museum. If you are taking children, grab a clipboard and pencil when you arrive (just inside main entrance) and answer the questions as you walk round. Kids got a sticker, colouring pencils and a wee colouring/quiz book on completion.

Fantastic museum in a very easy to get to location in Glasgow. The museum covers all aspects of transport from the bicycle to the tall ship, there is something for everyone here from young to old. Facilities are great with a cafe, ample clean toilets & a gift shop on location. Access is easy with lifts provided if needed for getting to the upper floors. The pay & display parking associated with the museum is across the road from it and has lots of spaces. However it is quite expensive and I would advise you definitely buy a ticket as there are always parking attendants roaming this one. The museum itself however is free to visit and you are welcomed to leave a donation if you so wish.

Great place to spend a couple of hours. Very wide range of exhibits - not just transport. Very attractively set up. Compact. Not much walking necessary. Cafe very cheap and friendly. You can get to the museum on the city tour bus. Entrance to the museum and the tall ship both free! What's not to like?!

Incredibly cool stuff in here. A real throwback to life in Glasgow in the 50's 60's and 70's. Some amazing examples of cars and other vehicles. Tonnes of awesome stuff to check out. There's something there you'll find interesting no matter who you are.

Great few hours spend at the riverside museum. Went first thing Sunday morning when it was quiet. Plenty of parking friendly & helpful staff & lots to see - well worth a visit. Word of warning tho - there is no ATM at the venue

Fantastic and it's free. Despite a long 40 minute walk from the city centre to this museum it was well worth it. You can also get a bus there or you could cycle. There is plenty of on site car parking for which there is a charge. There is no charge into this amazing Museum which is chock-a-block full of transportation options from the past, beautifully restored and presented with a very friendly staff who will answer any questions that you have. There are two cafes on site a coffee cafe upstairs and on the ground floor a cafe serving hot food and snacks and the quality was excellent. You can spend anything from an hour to 4 hours in the building depending on your level of interest. Put it on your list of things to do when in Glasgow

The Riverside Museum is poorly signed but if you follow the Tall Ship signs you will get the correct place. The exhibits are all well explained once you work out the pictures and descriptions related to the items hung up at roof level, sometimes not easy to work out until you get to the upper level and see more clearly what the item is. There is a vast amount of excellent exhibits and it really worth taking the time to get all the information available. I do not intend to decry the exhibits or the quality of the information provided but really feel that the building design is not properly suited for the exhibits being shown, especially as there is so much space left which could and should have been put to better use for this project. So many large items which should have been better housed so all could view them correctly and appreciate them properly.

Been here a few times and have just left. Great place to go to spend a few hours looking at all the different cars, buses etc. My daughter is 2 and she had a great time going on different things and getting to explore. Would highly recommend for something to do for a few hours at the weekend. The added bonus is it's free.... When we were leaving we noticed a huge sand pit. We spent a good half an hour there, my daughter loved it.

Super museum, well laid out and loads of stuff. A big boat outside too. I'm from Glasgow originally and have been to the old museum in Pollock Shields and Kelvin Hall, there's a lot of the same stuff, but loads more too. The boat outside is great for a walk around too. It's a very I retesting extra item. Both the museum and the boat are free entry, but it's great if you can drop a few quid in the box to help them out.
