The Howard Peters Rawlings Conservatory and Botanic Gardens of Baltimore, often known as the Baltimore City Conservatory, is a historic conservatory / greenhouse and botanical garden located in Druid Hill Park at 3100 Swann Drive, in the northwest area of Baltimore, Maryland.
It was designed by George A. Frederick (1842–1924), who was the architect of the Baltimore City Hall (1867–1875), and semi-official municipal architect of Baltimore in the late 19th century.

We really enjoyed our trip to the conservatory. It was our first time there. It is truly a hidden gem in Baltimore. They have very interesting flowers and plants from different temperature regions around the world. The best place to go I would save it for last is the orchid room

It's a beautiful historic conservatory. We ended up only spending about an hour here. It's not very big but still worth seeing. As you can maybe tell from the pictures I was obsessed with the tropics room but the Mediterranean and desert rooms are just as lovely.

Absolutely beautiful! On the day we went the even had someone over from the zoo, so we got to see shed snake skin, a small preserved scorpion and many other items including a snake skeleton! I should mention, it was near Halloween. Anyway, we were able to to ask questions regarding everything on the table. And speaking of animals, there's even a small indoor pond there which the kids all seemed to love. My personal favorite was the orchid room... stunning. And, if you walk off to the side of the conservatory there's an outdoor garden. I should also mention its free (donation box), cant beat that.

To me this was a hidden gem despite its building being very obvious and wonderful to look at from a distance. Everyone working here is friendly and has plenty of information should you want it. There are a healthy amount of plants and variety to include different climate controlled rooms. It's awesome. Heck there's even two Pokémon gyms here. My only complaint is there cocktail and jazz night is only done twice a year despite always selling out. They have a room that's often empty with a wet bar... It's perfect! I really hope they can do this more often as it's the only way to see the flowers at night with all their wonderful lighting throughout.
