The Baháʼí Terraces, or the Hanging Gardens of Haifa, are garden terraces on Mount Carmel in Haifa, and one of the most popular tourist destinations in Israel. Completed in 2001, there are 19 terraces and more than 1,500 steps ascending the mountain. The central terrace has the Shrine of the Báb, one of the main religious figures of the Baháʼí Faith. The architect was Fariborz Sahba from Iran, and the structural engineers were Karban and Co. from Haifa.
The terraces are part of a complex of Baháʼí holy places in Haifa, Acre, and western Galilee that were inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in July 2008.
Very nice gardens and view of Haifa harbor. Open until 12noon every day. So come early before you take the gardens tour that starts later, depending on the tour language you want, which could be 11am. The Shrine is interesting but small so can see in 5 to 15 minutes tops. You need to take off your shoes to enter. The gardens can be viewed in 30 minutes to 2 hours. I look 1 hour at a relaxed pace. Definitely a must see in touring Haifa and Israel.

Perfectly maintained Garden. Surrounding of the Shrine is beautiful! Would suggest for tourists to check website for visiting hours. The time may change according to weather. Keep in mind some areas are closed for tourists.

Beautiful gold-clad tiles adorn the dome of this glowing structure. Look at it during the night from Ben Gurion, or during the day from any of the 19 terraces of these gardens free of charge.

The moment you walk into the grounds of the Baha'i Gardens you will feel as though you've entered into an otherworldly plane. There is a calmness and serenity to the atmosphere as you sit down or walk around. The sounds from the water gushing in the fountains and the pebbles under your feet, paired with the sweet scented flowers, will make you feel at peace. Pray, meditate, or contemplate life - the quietness seeping through and around the Shrine will help you come up with an answer to the challenges you face or will give you a moment in the day to get wrapped up in peaceful thought.
