The Israel National Museum of Science, Technology, and Space (also known as Madatech) (Hebrew: מדעטק – המוזיאון הלאומי למדע, טכנולוגיה וחלל MadaTek – HaMuze'on HaLe'umi LeMada, Tekhnologya VeHalal, Arabic: متحف إسرائيل الوطني للعلوم والتكنولوجيا والفضاء) is a science and technology museum in the city of Haifa, Israel. The museum has approximately 200,000 visitors annually.
The museum, established in 1983, is housed in a historic building that was designed as the first home of the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, until it relocated to its current campus. The architect was Alexander Baerwald, a German Jewish immigrant, who began working on the building in 1912. On a visit to the Technion in 1923, Albert Einstein planted one of the palm trees in the courtyard, which can still be seen today.

A very interesting place where to spend a whole afternoon. All rooms are interactive and fun. Explanations also in English. Highly recommended.

We love it, kids and adults. It was great to try things, both inside and outside. Very well organized. Must come again. Free entrance on Wednesdays!

Incredible. The kids AND adults were enthralled with every exhibit. The outdoor playground was great. This despite several exhibit stations out of service. The interactive treasure hunt held the attention of the kids for a while. Great gift shop too.

Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with this museum. Each room explored a different topic, such as sound or sight, and each had a different sponsor. I suspect that the sponsors funded their rooms at different levels and as a result the quality of the displays were quite uneven from room to room. This is supposed to be an interactive museum but many of the items were broken, when they worked, the explanations that accompanied them were often either at too high a level or were simply labels with no explanation at all of how the different parts interacted. The games rooms provided lots of hands on geometric puzzles but no solutions, so I simply felt frustrated rather than educated. And on top of all that, this was one of the most expensive museums I visited in Israel. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Nice museum. Come early for parking. Very child friendly.

For me, this place was magical. The science park outside is full of attractions for kids... Saying 'attractions' is an insult because some of them are very intricate with well built mechanisms (gears, pulleys and more). The bottom floor had my 4.5 and 6 year olds going crazy. It has a very colourful water "park" with mini dams, buckets that teach you about water pressure.. They spent ages there. There's also a small mirror maze. The main areas were on the middle and top floors which had great and varied amounts of exhibits about space, chemistry, green energy and more! Some of the exhibits are new, some are really old and need refurbishing or replacement but all in all was a really great experience.

It closes at 3pm when I arrived. The main building is in renovation. Building is awesome! Probably inside will be great too. Good place for dog lovers.

Very fun place to go with kids. I have been going with my 5 year old since he was 2 and we spend on average 4 hours each time.

Isreli National Museum of Science Technology and Space a.k.a Madatech is one of the must see places in Haifa. Located in the monumental historical building of the Technion - Israeli Technology Institute at the Hadar quarter, this unique museum offering truly enlightening experience for the whole family.

Great exhibitions, explanations, hands-on experiments. Great fun and education for kids and adults alike. Certainly recommended. Staff is knowledgeable and if you know that they design and build their stuff for the museum, you have to admire them even more. Located close to downtown Haifa, German settlement, Baha'i gardens. Great place.

The museum contains a wide variety of interactive exhibits which cater to every age group from preschool through adult. The exhibits are well laid out, and hold interest of participants. The museum staff is helpful. Information is shared in three languages. The museum reciprocates with Science and Nature museum memberships in the USA. My visit was a great experience.

The last and this year every Wednesday it is free for public (except in holidays). Very nice museum. Two or 3 years ago they also opened a playground for the small ones (from 1.5-2 years to 4-5) with large building blocks, water and maze fun.

Didn't change for many years, but still, always excited to be there, kids love this place, they can simply learn a lot about science and figure out how things happens in the world. Very friendly place with great playground, I easily spent a day there.

I went there with my 6 year old. Ther are definitely activities there for his age but some of the exhibitions meant for children were a bit to complicated for him. The magic room was a hit and my son ended returning to this room a second time at the end of the visit.

Ok for kids, you can spend 2-3 hours there. Worth a visit only if you have 1+1 sale tickets. Parking space is limited and the place gets crowded on weekend.
