Not much to see. The Beatles Platz is situated in one of the most repulsive districts I have ever went. Needless to say it's just impossibly dirty and the smell is horrible. But if you are willing to put up with all the unpleasant surprises, it is a notable place in Hamburg with a great selection of sex shops. However once was enough - I will definitely not go back there.
This is my adventure day when I went to visit in Hamburg and had a small time to spent in The Beatles platz where these band had spent many year in Germany. I visited this place as a Beatles fan because I knew that Beatles had spent here a small part of there life. Yes this area is only for adults because it is located in red light district of Hamburg but still beautiful.
Interesting that the Beatles spent time here. Not particularly interesting metalwork though, and right at the bottom of the red light street.
A long way to go for four tiny barely recognizable metal sculptures
Beetles place, near former Star Club at Grosse Freiheit 39 Street. The Beetles figures are presented in metallic outlines, their famous songs engraved on the floor.
Nice that the band are in some small way remembered (extra star). The accent is on small. Five (Sutcliffe and a Best / Starr amalgam) wire 'sculptures' shaped like crime scene body outlines on a circle of concrete. Worked Paul out as he played left-handed, despite a local drunk using the legendary bassist as a coat stand. If this is a platz Leicester Square is Greenland. Thankfully no one had the cheek to offer a guided tour, as far as I'm aware. Disappointing.
Pointless and boring, how about a few beatles shops or a Beatles museum or something. Terrible
Not very interesting. Some neons and that it.
Cool to see where the Beatles got their start.
Place is full of drunks and homeless people and the sculptures have been ruined by graffiti and stickers.
