We have been living in Hamburg for almost a year. Only recently we went to Planten un Blomen and were very positively surprised. The park is very different to other parks we know of, e.g. the English Garden in Munich. It offers lots of sitting opportunities and areas protected from the sun where people can relax and enjoy a conversation. There is a stream with clear water and areas for kids where they can play around. The free open air music is very welcoming as well. We will definitely back more often after this experience.
What a wonderful place!!! A charming atmosphere with lot of water and species of plants (all colours and sizes). The Japanese garden and the Green House have to be visited. I can't believe such a place can be visited for free. May-September might be the best season to visit it. But in March-April is when the Cherry Blossoms are full of flowers.
It is very good place to come. We have been to Hamburg many times but we only now found this park. I would come once more especially for this place. I have seen there some places where you can seat on beach chairs.
The place is small, but do their best. Tonight, they had a large party of about 20. We suffered a bit because they had to handle the different drinks and took for that group. I would go back.
Good place for jogging and also for some fun activities. Couples can enjoy whole day over here.
It a great place to visit in sunny or cloudy weather, we visited this park twice in one week. It is a large area with multiple sections, there are quiet places fo reading books and relaxing, while the other side shows a different side of the park with water games and a huge playground for children. Definitely great for families unless the weather is rainy.
A must see in Hamburg. Beautiful gardens, scenery, ponds etc. A perfect place to unwind in the summer with lots of places to sunbathe and have picnics etc. There's a cafe there with excellent seating arrangements. Toilets are excellent and very clean. For a place that is free this is a perfect venue to take partners, children and family. I highly recommend this wonderful place to visit.
It is the best botanical garden I’ve been to in Germany. The greenhouse is very big and you can see that the workers really take care of it. On the park there are a lot of spaces to seat and relax and enjoy nature.
