Haverfordwest Museum is a local history and heritage museum in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire. Collections include local and social history, the history of the castle, and a selection of local art. The museum is housed in the former governor's house, a Grade II listed building, said to date from 1779 inside Haverfordwest Castle and facing the former town prison.
In 2012 Pembrokeshire County Council decided to sell the current site for use commercially, and relocate the museum to another site. The site has not been sold and the museum is still open.

Views from The Castle are spectacular. The actual castle is no more than a ruin and the grounds are in poor shape. It has a great history and the museum is interesting.

A public castle left it's appalling. They focus on the museum which is ok but has very little to do with the castle. The castle has beer bottles everywhere, glass, cans and has even been spray painted. It is a shame that the museum which isn't even that good get funding but the council cannot even clean up the castle or give a bit of funding to that. Do not go there it is sad and a waste of an amazingly rich history.

Interesting old castle and museum. Imposing castle, seen from the town. Especially during night time. The defence walls are nearly intact. The castle area is quiet large, and besides ruins, you may discover a gateway down, including nice views of the town. Nearby, you'll also find the ruins of an old Abbey. A visit to the museum is just about 2 pounds, as of June 2017, and recommended. It's all about history of Haverfordwest and the castle. A bit complicated, driving up to the castle, but in my opinion, well worth it. Icluding a visit of the town, it's a nice day out, for any family and / or history interested visitor. Please check, if there is a parking fee to pay, as I have not seen any parking machine, but a sign board, about parking permits.

We went there after 7pm so the museum was closed. The castle ruins are quite pleasant and the views are lovely. If you're in the town it's worth a visit but I'd not go out of my way to see it.

Much better than a normal small town museum, well worth a visit. Castle grounds a bonus.
