Enjoyed the visit to this food hall where you can find a good variety of smoked fish and lunch cafes. This time we tried fresh wrapped shrimp rice rolls, chicken spring rolls, Vietnamese ice coffee and avocado shake from Hanoi Vietnam located at the far end of the hall. Food was ok. Ice coffee awesome!
Visiting the Market Hall was interesting. It's located right next to the Harbor. You will various merchants inside selling seafood, coffee, pastries, produce, and other edible goods. I'm not sure how fresh the food prepared by the merchants were. Some sellers looked like they had food sitting out for a few hours. It's not just European food inside. There are Vietnamese vendors and other non-European vendors. You could probably spend 20-30 minutes walking around the hall. It's not that big, but if you want to sample items, you could easily spend more than an hour inside. It's a great spot to take a break and grab a bite to eat.
Looks cool. Will have to come back. Almost nothing open except one or two breakfast places at 10am.
Nice old building with some stores selling Finnish themed foods. Get the impression that this is aimed at tourists, bit it's not tacky for it. Note that this is the indoor building (just behind the sail boat as you look at the sea from the harbour front) not the selection of tented stalls on the seafront, which some people seem to have confused with this. It's not very clearly signed so I can understand how people might walk past without realising what it is.
Nice market and good location. Really high prices and seems to be set up for tourist, so manage your expectations. There are definitely better market in the city in my opinion. But still worth it to have a look around
What a wonderful place! Do try the Apple cider and Lonkero, the drink specially created for the Helsinki Olympics. The staff is simply delightful. Great food market, personally loved the berries, cheese and chocolate. Next to the ferry point and the old market square. Great place to shop or simply hangout
Nice and old architecture, good selection of different foods to buy (vendors) and a few cafes / restaurants. Me and my girlfriend enjoyed nice warm soup with water and bread for 20€ total.
Super cool historic market hall. Bit touristy content but that is to be expected in a location like this. There are some cool trades to be made for sure.
Interesting place. With sufficient selection of smoke salmon and other fish. Little snack cafes there. Very tasty.
nice market with various food choices. Wanna try the fish soup there but pick the wrong visit date (2nd day of Easter Holiday). Brought some dry nuts and berries and they are tasty. Hopefully i might have another chance to visit again with all shops open and i'm really hoping for it.
Great place to enjoy a cup of coffee or simply browse the shops which sell local produce, mostly food. These historic halls are traditional inside markets, popular due to the cold Finnish winter months. Must see charming attraction in the harbour.
Very nice touristic attraction and place for a quick shopping. Big choice of different Finnish delights, prices are quite moderate. There are couple of restaurants for a quick meal. The building itself looks very beautiful.
Definitely recommend going to see the old market hall. It is very conveniently located. Food was ok but not amazing. Very handy if you are after a quick and cheap meal. We picked up some local pastries which were ok.
Full of delightful and tasty treats. Beautiful old building, it’s worth a visit just to get a coffee and people watch.
Best this ever in Helsinki. My suggestions would be to pick lots of things from different shops and collect in one place and eat. Or eat as you go. All the food here is super fresh, delicious and totally worth the little extra that they charge.
Please like my review if helpful 👍 A great place to see down by the harbour. A beautifully maintained ancient market hall lined with the original wooden booth stalls with a great variety of stallholders and their wares. Worth a visit whether you intend to buy or not.
