Great impressions, especially walking through the real old bunkers.
Very nice and open space with lots of interesting details. Entry is for free, absolutely worth to visit
If you are interested in WWII definitely check this out!! So cool
A lot of well maintained and open bunkers. You can walk along the trenches and old bunkers. Signs at each bunker denotes the use and build of the bunker back in the days.
Very interesting museum with a lot of bunkers from WWII in the sand dunes
Definitely worth visiting if you are interested in WWII. There is also a great view. It's easily accessible and free. Bring a good jacket because it can get very windy!
The fortress is incredible, how close the emplacement are to each other. The entire coast was so heavily defended, it was never attacked, the "ring of iron" was never broken. WWII relics that Germans built. The local d Danish sold the Germans second rate dune sand, which fortuitously had low salt concentrations, which somehow led to the steel not rusting as fast, and the bunkers are well intact. You can run from Bunker to Bunker, the trails are still there. The 105 mm cannons were the primary weapon, and there are some searchlight emplacement as well. Very much appreciated this Memorial day, the fact war somehow escaped this sector of Europe.
Always fun to visit...a bit spooky too !! 😬
