The Caravelle Hotel is located in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The hotel was opened to the public on Christmas Eve 1959, when the city was known as Saigon. Contemporary journalists noted its use of Italian marble, bullet-proof glass and a “state-of-the-art air-conditioning system and a Berliet private generator.”

Very good time with the service and people here. Great location where places to go and dine are walking distance. Highly recommended
A 5 Star luxury hotel indeed. Worth the price for the (almost) full length window to have a nice view of the sunset. Sipping tea or coffee over the view is a marvellous experience. The hotel amenities comes with hot/cold jacuzzi, suana and steam room. The steam room here is a little unique than most that I have been and is a must to check out when you are here.
This hotel has beautiful clean rooms with an amazing view of Ho Chi Minh City. They restock the room on room service and the room service food is excellent. The breakfast is a huge spread of different foods, plenty of fruit and healthier options. I stay in this hotel every time I come to Vietnam.
We had an amazing stay here. Located in the center of ho chi minh city, within walking distance of most attractions. Good customer service, helpful staff.
The Caravelle has been at the center of Saigon society since the hotel was opened in 1959. In 1998, an elegant 24-storey tower was built as a complement to the original 10-storey building. With commanding views of the city and an enviable location opposite the Opera House, the landmark hotel is at the heart of a city once renown as the Pearl of the Orient. The Caravelle was home to many members of the international press corps during the Vietnam War, a time when Saigon (now known universally as Ho Chi Minh City) was the center of extraordinary upheaval and turmoil. Nowadays, the hotel is a favorite for nostalgic travelers and discerning visitors alike. The Caravelle remains the definitive luxury hotel in the heart of Saigon.
I have been staying at this great hotel for the last 18 years, when I visit for business from my base in Singapore. It's a 1.45hr flight from Changi airport. I have never felt so welcome and treated like family as I have at this iconic landmark. Superb buffet downstairs near the lobby, fantastic historic rooftop bar on the 9th floor, with live music and great view over the centre of Saigon, opposite the cathedral. I would highly recommend this hotel to any traveller, whether for business or holidays. You cannot go wrong.
Pick a river facing view, it's better. Got to see the new year fireworks straight from my window. Their premium lounge service is also a good add on to your room.
Excellent location. 5-minute walk to supermarket. 10-minute walk to Takashimaya. The room is clean and spacious. The city view is great. They offer 3-4 choices of pillows, but the mattress is soft. Nice swimming pool and gym.
This review is for the rooftop bar on the 9th floor. The space is a bit outdated and the drink selection could be updates as well. There are so many better and sleeker designed bars in the city.
Excellent except the desert. 8€ for a piece of cake not larger than the head of a tea spoon. Imagine my surprise for a place like that Caravelle. At least I expected a really tasty pastry for that price but that wasn't that good. Go there for everything but not for the brownie.
I have been in this hotel for 3 night during a business trip. My room was a standard room. This is not a true 5 stars hotel but obviously for Vietnam is a big standard. In any case the room was clean bathroom is old but clean too. The breakfast was satisfied. I took a dinner only one time at the buffet and also was satisfied. The hospitality was very kindly.
