Very nice small museum with wonderful artifacts! Great location in Kowloon Park. My first visit after many trips to Hong Kong and will definitely be back!

Objects from archaeological sites, sunk ships etc. Quite interesting especially if you like cracked porcelain dishes. Kidding. Really nice little museum, worth a visit.

Love it due to it's immersive interactive display. Not very big but still nice place to spend an afternoon. There is even a free guided tour.

Great place to relax and enjoy a quick crash-course on HK history (for free!). It should take about 30 mins to skim through the exhibits. Drop by here if you're walking through the park and enjoy the historical building . Clean and modern facilities (clean toilets and a/c) and well-staffed. Picnic tables outside, too.

Interesting museum that exhibits Hong Kong in the past through present. Free to enter, and it is cool inside!

Good for a half day visit to go through the somewhat dated exhibition. The place gets very busy on weekends and is mainly kids focused. There's a nice little gift shop. You need to buy tickets outside before entry and there are multiple cinema shows to check out.

Nice place to take a break from the heat. Good place to discover Chinese heritage. I wouldn’t plan this as a destination, but it was interesting to have stumbled upon it while looking for shade.

In the middle of Kowloon Park in Tsim Sha Tsu, you can find the surprisingly good Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Center, which has the purpose of promoting local heritage in the form of Hong Kong’s archeology, architecture and public housing. The centre can be comfortably visited in 30-45 minutes and entrance is free (HK$0) There are nice exhibits covering Hong Kong archeology sites. One room provides samples of archeological dig sights around Hong Kong. There are also several rooms that focus on the role of Chinese and Western architectural design and how each has shape and appearance of the Hong Kong skylines over the decades. There are several videos being played within the rooms, providing glimpses into Hong Kong's distant past. These are enjoyable to watch. We particularly like the Ding Ding Tram (4 min) video. Lastly, there is a very interesting exhibition on the transformation and evolution of public housing in Hong Kong in 50-60 years. At the center, there is a nice outdoor garden area with a few tables and seats that make a very relaxing place to rest, read a book and check email using the free government wifi available here. In the end, the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre will probably be more interesting to local residents or those with family or other historic links to Hong Kong’s past. However, this is a nice place to visit if you find yourself in Kowloon Park. For those with an interesting Hong Kong heritage, try the Hong Kong Heritage Museum in Sha Tin and the Hong Kong Museum of History in Hung Hum as well.
